can anyone please shed some light on why the people in my family tree (which is my Father's family) are all listed in relationship with my step-mother, i.e. my uncle is listed as 'brother-in-law' instead of 'father's brother' or 'uncle', and why I can't alter this? It is most annoying because I am doing this family tree for my dad and want him to have the proper information. I know it probably won't matter too much to him but it isn't correct and I would like it to be right. Thanks for your help.
I think that you have probably listed your dads brother through your step mother rather than adding names through your fathers list. When on your father click add then add sibling etc that way. The way Heritage is done doesn't seem to take in to account that we may have other relatives through marriage eg like second marriages
Hi Angus, many thanks for your reply. I have looked again at the way I have listed my relatives but, unfortunately, it appears that everyone I have listed has been through my Dad's side of the family. That-is-to-say, I have listed his siblings and my brother and myself all through him and not through my mum (step-mum that is). Ah well, I'd best try again. Hopefully, the penny will drop and I'll see something I've missed all this time. Again, thank you for your reply.
