why so many copies of one pic

When I add a personal photo to FTB it adds three, six or nine copies of the image to the photos sub-folder in my family tree folder in the my heritage folder in my documents (lots of folders, I know) but, all these images take up space, is there a way to limit this to just one copy of each photo that I add? or do I just have to put up and shut up?

can anybody help?

thanx in anticipation

Kristina

Hi Kristina,

When you add a photo to Family Tree Builder, it creates thumbnails of those photos for reference and quick loading. These thumbnails are very small in size and take up a minimal amount of space - both in FTB and on your family site.

If you right click on one of them, you'll see that they are only a few KB each. All tolled, the storage space they take up compared to the amount of time it would take to load each full sized photo is worth the trade off.

:)
