One of the settings for your tree allows you to mark living people as private. You can also block off contact data unless the person is a member of your page as well.
I have several instances where there is intermarriage within the family..nothing incestuous but it results in the same person being listed more than once on my tree. Example: my ggma, Cora O'Guin, had a brother, Porter O'Guin, who was married several times, but two were to sisters who were Cora's stepdaughters. JD Gore was the girls' father but also Porter's brother-in-law.JD also had a son from a previous marriage, Elzie Gore, who married a divorced woman with children, one of whom was my father, making Elzie my dad's stepgrandfather and my mom's stepgrandfather. Is there any way that when we run into these situations we can toggle the previous listed individual into position so that it shows these additional relationships without having to re-enter the information? Also is there anyway we can specify the relationship of stepparent rather than adoptive parent?

Is there any way we can click on something within the SmartMatching to let ourselves know we have checked that SmartMatch and delete it if it is NOT a SmartMatch? I have so many but keep forgetting which ones I have checked and when a lot are incorrect, it takes up a lot of time.
Sorry, there is no knob at the lower, upper, right or left part of my screen when I click on a Smart Match. All I have is Actions - Compare and/or View Tree. There is nothing to click on to Delete anything as a SmartMatch if it isn't one.
Sorry, but I don't get what you get (the photo you put in was small but I could see you have words at the bottom of your Compare screen that I don't have.
What is Family Tree Builder?
I tried to add a file to show you, but for some reason it won't, so all I can say is I don't get the words you get. Is that something to do with Family Tree Builder - whatever that is? I don't build my tree on here, I import it as a GEDCOM.
Family Tree Builder is the software that is available at the website of MyHeritage fore free.
With this software it is possible to import your GEDCOM's as well. While filling in your family, the program is constant checking for SmartMatches in other pedegrees in the database of MyHeritage automaticly.
I just had a look and it is for Windows only. I have a Macintosh so it looks like I have to put up with the constant Smart Matches - wrong and right ones. Thanks for your help though - I appreciate it.

Indeed it's kinda stupid to have Smart Match but no merge. It's not just the fact that it's annoying for the users - the MyHeritage database is filling up with dupes that has got different descriptions. Any logic in that?
Unfortunately, in the current version of Family Tree Builder, and also on the website right now you can only look at smart match suggestions, and compare your tree with other trees that were suggested to you.
There is also an option to contact the administrator of the other tree.
In future versions, there will be an option to merge details of profiles on the trees with other trees.

Since purchasing the premium plus package, my site has been useless. I cannot merge, I cannot use any of the funtions, and after writing repeatedly to support (which there is NONE), I feel others should know that you have not worked out the kinks in your new program. Many of us have found that we can no longer use many functions as the buttons have been grayed out. I have wrote daily to get answers, and they do not answer! For others that are contemplating buying the better package, don't do it! There is NO help, no support and no one will response. I am now paying premium price to do nothing except check my account daily to find out it's still not working!
The program worked for a short time and the concept is wonderful, but it will crash out! I've already lost a week's time in waiting for a response, and yet no one is back there. Until they get a support line or address that actually writes back, don't buy this product. On the other hand if they ever resolve it,I will post it, but so far NO ONE IS AT HOME! If you run into problems and technical issues, you are on your own. I'm hoping someone will give me a way to connect to real people to get this resolved! In fact, I'm looking to see what group (like better business bureau) that I can report this to, others should know these things BEFORE they purchase.
Again, DON"T BUY THE PREMIUM PLUS, until you know that someone is back there to help solve the problems that they have created with their NEW revised version! If anyone knows how I can get this taken care of, please let me know, my research is now on a full STOP!
Wow, this site REALLY needs that functionality. It is really cool that smart matches happen, but it would be better if you could merge data without the rather tedious task of writing down the info from another tree and re-entering it in to your tree.
Please add this, I would pay for this extra feature.
