Just as the heading says. I uploaded a second Family Tree to my webspace, because I want to split my Family Tree into smaller pieces to be able to follow familys better. This was a week ago but still no matches for that tree! HOw long will it take before I will see the first matcnings?
My only question was "How long, after uploading, will the SmaftMatch be effective?" Nothing else!!!!! What the "reinstalling" of my SmartMatches mean, I don't know, BUT for the second time after your "help" ALL my SmartMatches are LOST!!!!!
I can see the green mark on my records BUT when I press it I get the message that there are NO matches and after that, the green marking is gone!!!!!!! Thank you VERY much for making months of work worthless again.
Last time you did this I asked you NOT to reset or do anything with my SmartMatches, but........ So please once again, in the future DO NOT try to fix my SmartMatches because after your "help" everything is gone and I have wasted 100:s of hours.
Wow, that's annoying. Bad for you and thank you for sharing this with the community. At least I know never to ask to fix something for me. But are you sure everything is lost? I thought they made backups of everything. ANd I read in some other post re-initialising smart matches can take up to several days if your tree is very large.. So maybe you just have to wait a bit?
About how much time should it normally take to process smart matches for a tree with 3.000 profiles. It used to take about one to two weeks, but the last time I waited for more than a month without results. This happened after the expired Premium site, which I am the webmaster of, had been upgraded to PremiumPlus. But at the sime time, the member status of the owner of the site was downgraded to Basic. Why is that? Also, does it effect Smart Matching, that I've recently disabled the tree being public in the Genealogy Center? And while I technically did not make a purchase, the My purchases page lists the site as Basic level, when it is not, though it does function as a PremiumPlus one othewise.
My Home page says I have X number of Smart Matches to confirm.When I open on Smart Matches,the is usually a long list of Smart Matches from many different Trees.But when I click to check them out,ther is nothing.Just a tab that says"X Smart Matches to Confirm,but none show below.I now have close to fifty SM`s to confirm or reject,but,none show, so I can`t check them out.
Other site members of my Tree have been in touch with the same problem on their Trees-no wonder they have litererally hundred to confirm or reject,and appear to be doing nothing.
I can`t even get a reply from My Heritage.What is going on?
All these problems seem to have started with their merger or takeover of that US Company-maybe they havetaken on too much,or their is a conflict!
Each time you make changes to your tree and publish, your Smart Matches are processed again. The data will then be compared with approximately 21 million other family trees at MyHeritage.
Since you have a very large tree, the collection of the data can take more time, up to several days.
It happens that in this "intermediate period" webmasters make changes in their family trees and remove individual cards and even entire trees. The result is that you have received a message that you have a smart match, but that the data has been removed- an empty smart match.
If you wait a few days without updating your tree, this should appear properly.
I'm having the same problem! In fact my FTB software claims to talk to the website, but in fact doesn't. I get no Smart Matches now and every time I try to publish, it tells me the version on the site is newer than the one I've just finished working on on the software!

Please note that each time that you publish your tree to the site the Smart Match calculation process is restarted. This means that if you publish your tree very frequently you may experience a large delay in receiving the new Matches.
I have now made a change in the database so that your site's Matches will be processed faster. Please wait 3 days without publishing a new version of your tree to the site, and you should receive Matches.
If this does not resolve the problem, please let me know.
I understand that you you are interested in linking parents to a child. You may not do this on a smart match but you may do this on your own tree. A smart match simply allows you to copy information to your tree.
If you build your family tree directly from your family site at MyHeritage.com and you need to do one of the following things:
* Fix any wrong connection between children and families or between spouses.
* Move an entire branch
* Add a child, parent or spouse that already exists in the tree without having to add them again ( a marriage between two distant cousins, for example)
You will need to use the Connect Remove Connection feature.

A side panel will open up, with three options:
3. Choose the relevant option, and then the relevant individual from your tree.
4. If you choose to attach to a parent, you will need to choose the relevant spouse (if the parent has more than one spouse):
In a similar way, you can choose to remove a connection for any individual.
Note:It is not possible to connect person A and B as siblings.
Instead, you will need to connect both to the same parents - which will make them siblings.

I was considering a direct complaint to My Heritage, but feel that this is going on too long, too often with repeated Smart Matches.
I have a person I'm asked to "confirm" not once, not twice, but three times from a website from which I already have confirmed that same person on 4 previous occasions. The website "claims" to have over 98,000 people and has confirmed this person in July 2011, January 2012, March 2012 and April 2012. It is definitely the same person; no details have changed.
Does this person (1972-1994) really need to be confirmed seven (7) times ? by the same web site ? This person is also confirmed by many other sites and there seem to be no disputes raised. I cannot understand which algorithm the SM program uses, but it still takes a live person to originally input the algorithm.
I realize that I will be asked to "submit" more details and/or will be communicated with directly so as not to be embarassed publicly by my complaint. I see some issues dealt with by e-mailed replies/solutions by Support but there are some of us who would like to know the solution as well. The very same issue may arise again at a later date.
I have been sitting on this complaint for several days now and now is the time to share it.
It's annoying, anytime a person republishes their tree under the same name it gives you all the same SM to reconfirm. They probably aren't even aware that they're doing this. Only way I've figured out is that if you see a tree repeated once or twice, just confirm one and ignore the other. Then if any more come up you can ignore them too, but at least you won't have to see any more from the trees that you've ignored.
Exact reason why I turned the stupid matches off. I'm sick of them.
I have YET to find a match with my direct ancestors, but the wife of the son of the husband of the aunt of the daughter of the husband of the daughter of the wife of the uncle.... waaaaay back in 1703 keeps showing up month after month after month.
I've just spent more than one hour confirming/rejecting SM's of which most had NO relevance to my tree. The percentage-indicators must be wrong! I have experienced a true SM with appr. 65% and a completely false SM with appr. 60%. Main indicators as full name, birthdate, deathdate, parents and partner(s) have obviously too small part in the SM-percentage. After an initial stage in recording the familytree, SM is becomming an annoyance.
MATCHES UNDER 75% SHOULD NOT BE DISPLAYED, at least as an option.
