"If you change the Primary Data Language of an existing project, hen the words Unknown or Empty may appear in place of the
data that you have already entered."
This have happend to me, but how do I change it back?
If you add information to your tree in 2 languages, you must make sure to add all the info in both languages, otherwise it will appear as Unknown. You can check what languages are in your tree if you open your project in Family Tree Builder and go to Tools> Languages. Make sure to set the same display and primary data language, even if you have a secondary data language. If you right-click on that window and go to Manage data languages, you will see how much data is in each language. You can choose to copy all info to one language or add all of it in both languages.

Question is simple.. If i am to confirm a smart match, does it import data on just the confirmed match or does it import the family tree from the other user, if so how much does it import?
I have uploaded TWO different trees to my web-space, to keep some branches appart. They DO have some common persons linking them together.
After uploading my second tree, about 10 days ago, it still has NO matches, not even to the persons that are common in both trees!!!! How come!
In another thread I asked the staff about the same thing but in another way and they replied to me that they had "reset" my SmartMatches and that resulted in ALL my matches LOST in my first uploaded tree and STILL NO matches in the new!
So PLEASE DO NOT DO ANYTHING (resetting or other fixes) TO MY TREES BEFORE YOU HAVE HAD IT CONFIRMED BY ME!!!!! I don't want to loose my job again, you have allready caused me over a hunderd hours of extra work.
Just try to explain to me why the SmartMatches doesn't show up for my second uploaded tree.
Truth be told you're probably better off without them. I've got them and they've taken over my life. Not to mention that they haven't really been much use outside of the Smart Matching game.
I know, my other tree uses it and it's more or less worthless. BUT my goal with the second tree was this:
I got a tree from a friend, in GEDCOM, that includes over 212 000 records, where at least 4-5 000 matches my first tree and from those matches I could get further in the tree. So I thought that if I upload the second tree to my web-space, I could get matches between my tree one and the úploaded tree two. That way I could "merge" my tree one with the tree two by using SmartMatches and that way I didn't have to add records manually.
We actually don't perform Smart Matching on trees you're a site manager of.
The logic behind it is that since you have all the information in those two trees already available to you, there is no need to show you something you already know about.
I know other people have thought about using Smart Matches for the same type of thing and we've let the developers know this is a feature you would like to see implemented.
In the meantime, you might consider using Family Tree Builder to do the work for you. You can extract the branch that you want to add to your own tree using the export GEDCOM feature and then merge it to your own tree.
Keep in mind that the merge feature doesn't recognize duplicate individuals, so when you export the branches from this huge tree, export the ones you don't have in your tree already.

I will look at the "export branches" again, have tested it once before but with no sucess.
I now have contact with one of your staff members, Sara, a Swedish speaking girl and she has been very helpful so..... the future looks a little bit brighter.
I have now during several hours confirmed/rejected hundreds if not up to a tousend smart matches and suddenly I find matches I recognize since I began. As control I checked the matches I had to confirm and found the 2 top tree entries I started to confirm with 13 resp 9 matched people now where back. What is happening? It is not the first time this occure.
Sorry but no, it cant be one person publishing since I had several known different trees that was rolled back and now is OK again so it seems to be something doing with the server caching or something.

it's almost impossible now to do smart matching as you can't be sure anything smart match is telling you is correct or not.
I've going over the first 3 (out of over 4000 smart matches) now for the 4th time, and smart match keeps forgetting what I said, changing confirmed into rejection, or showing "confirmed" but when i click on it then "rejected" is selected, colours not properly, and many many other bugs.
In short" it's totally corrupted at the moment and not working"
I've noticed this a few times now, I wanted to be sure if it's me or the software before posting a bug report. But I'm 100% sure after testing it a few times it's a bug and not my mistake.
I'll explain what I do, what I expect and what I get.
The Person in this example in my Family Tree is Geert Harms Veuger-Veldman May 25 1749 born Hoogeveen
1) I find this person in the site of Theo Kelner, but it also lists a person "Albert Veldman" as smart matching to Geert Harms Veuger-Veldman. So I have a correct and a wrong smart match. I first select the wrong smart match, and reject it. As a result I have a red-written "Reject" at this place.. which is 100% correct of course.
2) I now select the correct match and open the compare window
3) I manually merge every single person to be sure everything is merged properly
4) now I go back to the compare window
5) but what's that, the right person now shows a green-confirmed, but te wrong person shows me a green-REJECT!
6) right-click and "change status of this match" now lists "confirmed" suddenly to Albert Veldman.
a) of course I never confirmed this, and since I did everything manually it's 100% not a mistake by me, I never confirmed this person
b) why the hack would it list "green" but write "reject" but when I right-click and "change status..." it lists confirmed
please fix this ASAP as it's still impossible to manage the smart-matches if they're not listed properly or changes or undone, wrong done, on persons I've not even touched or forget the reject/confirmed I did before, or even overwrites them wrong
This is definately a bug that can't be left out of any upcoming patch. Since it's really annoying never to be sure what you've selected and what not, and if selected something correctly, out of the sudden the program changing it out of nowhere.
This is really annoying and makes the software completely unusuable at smart matching. People I've already confirmed suddenly get "rejected" and people I've rejected are suddenly confirmed.
Red/green is completely screwed up..
But please, don't reset anythng. I already read that if you reset things for users, users then loose all the information 100%.. so no resets! Simply fix the code. I'll "reset" or "fix" everything myself once you've fixed the code.
If I edit a person, the program looks for new smart matches.. If it smart matches 2 persons then, it forgets if I already marked this match as "reject" or "confirmed" or what it does remember is wrong..
So this is a bug that needs to be fixed ASAP. If I change/edit a person, and the program automatically checks for smart matches.. It should remind the smart matches I already had, very if any new found smart match corresponds to any of those I already had, and simply mark the new found as the one I already set.
So, each time I change a person in a family, ALL the smart matches of kids/parents are resetted and null and void and I can start smart matching from scratch because the program forget everything I set before..
The best way to keep track of smart matches is to view them by family tree instead of by name. Then view them by site manager instead of by New Matches. That way you can keep track of everything you have and haven't confirmed.
Just as the heading says. I uploaded a second Family Tree to my webspace, because I want to split my Family Tree into smaller pieces to be able to follow familys better. This was a week ago but still no matches for that tree! HOw long will it take before I will see the first matcnings?
