I am very sure you would appreciate that the modern age does not allow and is also not practical to have large family in blood relations.
You would also agree that now a days FRIENDS AND WORKING ASSOCIATES WITH THEIR FAMILIES HAVE BECOME TO BE AS GOOD AS BLOOD RELATIONS. PLEASE ADVISE AS TO HOW WE CAN ADD A PERSON AS A FRIEND IN THE FAMILY TREE BUILDER ALONGWITH HIS FAMILY MEMBERS.
PLEASE SEND A SPECIFIC MAIL REPLY
THIS QUESTION IS ALSO FOR THE SITE ADMINISTRATOR/MANAGER/HELP DESK - MY QUESTION REMAINS UN-ANSWERED AS I SENT A SPECIFIC QUESTION TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ABOUT A FORTNIGHT BACK
Sorry for the late reply.
The way that MyHeritage site supports friendship and work relationship is when tagging people in a photo. If you have a photo with a person who is not part of the family, you can define the relationship as a friend or co-worker. I know this is not very scientific since it does not build a relationship graph between the people. We are consider enhancing this feature in the future since we are seeing a need from our users.
I am happy that the response on the suggestion is positive. It shall be a great gesture for the entire community if the implementation on this is very fast as it is the need of the society.

In Family Tree Builder you have done an exceptional job of designing the Names window to include a person's Alias, Nickname, Religious Name and Former Last Name. However, when the tree is published to MyHeritage, none of these fields show up in the person's profile. For me, and I assume many others, the presence or absence of these fields could very well be the difference between someone being able to recognize (or not) a match in my tree.
Please enhance the MyHeritage profile to display Alias, Nickname, Religious Name and Former Last Name.
I completely endorse the need for displaying the "preferred/call name" of a person in the tree, as in "Please enhance the MyHeritage profile to display Alias, Nickname, Religious Name and Former Last Name."
Has there been any changes made in V5 of the software to support these long-standing and regular requests?
It would reduce possible "family" frictions if the situation where the Unmarried parents of a child , did not show as Husband and Wife. It would be accurate in that situation to list them instead as Male Parent and FemaleParent.
If a "status" of Unmarried was provided as a option (which is currently not an option) and when the option of Unmarried was selected, it could generate the correct format of Male Parent and Female Parent, (instead of the incorrect title of Husband and Wife) list the status of being Unmarried (as opposed to being Married) ... that would be great!
However I think there are already too many "marital status" options. Below are my suggestions for this field of data, the symbol and how such a relationship should display on a printed tree;
Engaged (engagement ring) solid line
Married (wedding ring) solid line
Separated (cracked ring) dashed line
Divorced (broken ring) dashed line
Annulled (certif with X) dashed line
Widowed (as is?) solid line
Unknown (?) dashed line
Plus (for unmarried couples); NEW!!!
Unmarried (heart) solid line (replaces partners)
Ex-Partners (broken heart) dashed line
Other(friends symbol) dashed line (this covers affairs, etc)
The above descriptions of relationship lines on trees only refers to the lines between a couple, not lines to their children.
These changes could be quite easily rolled out and applied to existing databases, relationships currently flagged as "Partners" or "Friends" would become "Unmarried". Users would have to identify "Ex-Partner" relationships as these are currently not catered for and people probably handle them in a variety of different ways.
My family members have names that include characters from a foreign character set and are not displayed correctly, the ñ. An example is the use of the spanish ñ, á, é, ó. there are even ö or ü that will not display correctly, thus effecting other users as well. I would like to have these characters displayed the same way that I insert them, not other strange things that are not even close to the input character.
I find it very insulting that I cannot have the canadien flag representing my family on my tree program. The american flag will just not do. I'm canadien not american. Can I suggest that the canadien flag be added to the list. Thank u
So you’re a Canuck, eh?
Do you mean the flag in the language selector?
If so then if we add Canada as a language, what will the Aussies say, they will start demanding their flag too. And then the Kiwis… And what will the Quebecois say? They will want selecting the Canadian flag to change the language the French! So complicated …
I would be very happy if I had the possibility to save my familiy tree on DVD and show it to family on the TV set. In this way I could sent all what I collected to family members who don't owe the PC.
Yes, it is possible for you to import PDF content from another application into a PowerPoint presentation; however, you will not be able to work with this content as you can with text. When you bring PDF content into your PowerPoint presentation, it acts like an object or an image, rather than text that you can edit.
While PowerPoint is a great tool for creating content that you can use in the PDF file format, you cannot create PDF files by using PowerPoint.
With help from contacts on the The PowerPoint FAQ Web site or the PowerPoint Discussion Group, or with information from your third-party PDF software application vendor, you can convert your presentations into PDF files.
Yes, it is possible for you to convert a PowerPoint 2003 presentation into a PDF file. However, not from within PowerPoint — but you can by using a third-party PDF-based software application.
To obtain the most up-to-date instructions on how to accomplish this, you can seek assistance from one of the following resources:
PowerPoint does not directly support converting a PDF file into a PowerPoint presentation. However, you can paste a PDF file from Adobe Acrobat Reader into a PowerPoint slide.
Hej!
I'm getting ready for a large reunion and I would like to be able to give each adult family member a form for them to list their details and would also have printed the info that we already have ( some of which is inaccurate or obsolete. ) Can this be done with the current system or can it be done in the future
