I notice in the software and the website there doesn't seem to be an option to display the complete family tree.
This would be an excellent option as it can be confusing when selecting home and finding some parts of the tree are not visible, so unless we know it's there, we may not find it.
Printing a chart with the complete family tree would be another thing i'd love to see available.
There is a way to view the entire tree in one shot, we call it the "All-in-one" chart.
Go to the Family tree tab and click the Print chart link. Select the first chart type called "All-in-one" and generate the chart. You will get a PDF file that contains a chart of all the people in your tree.
Would be much better to see rejected and confirmed on the overview page, then you don't waste time rechecking matches. Some indication of new matches on the same overview page would be good also.
Is it also possible to hide multiple matches on multiple trees on the same site. I have a number of matches to a site with 12 trees on it each with the same data in, therefore giving many more matches than really exist.
MyHeritage is currently in the process of implementing many exciting new features in Smart Matching that will give you better control. As you suggested, it will allow you to confirm and reject matches and see which matches are new. You will also be able to reject a whole tree if it is either wrong or superfluous. Once a match is confirmed, it will allow you to easily link between the individual in your tree to its confirmed match in the other tree.
Stay tuned for these and other improvements in Smart Matching in the near future.
I fully support the mentioned extensions in Smart Matches. In addition to this it would be great to have one extra column showing the date when the match was found. I currently have a list of over 1000 maches. When a new one is added I have no idead where to find it in the big list.
What about the copying of data from one site to another? I am a member of two sites; mine and one from my wifes Uncle. The other site has photographs of my wife's mother and father that would look good on my site as well. How can "Smart Matches" merge the two records or copy data from one site to the other so that the photographs and other pertinant data can be properly shared?
Attached is a side by side of the two sites showing what I am refering to.
The default character in my OS (Linux) is UTF-8 and I'm writing in Portuguese with accented characters, like "José Luís" in names. When are expected to support unicode ?
We added previous and next buttons above the photo to make it easier to navitage.
To tag people in the photo simply click their faces and name the person by selecting the individual from the tree. If a face was not identified, click the Add person button on the right
I have noticed the buttons in one of the albums, I guess its the default one, but if I make a new album the next/previous buttons do not appear. Now I am stuck with many albums without the navigation buttons and it is very time consuming to navigate.
Thanks Esther, actually I noticed that only the old albums that were transferred from moikrewni.pl have this problem, I will just create new albums and move the photos.
so far we like this program, but have only been using it for a couple hours.
there's one thing i think the program needs... a date of divorce, after all many are being divorced these days and share family.
I can't see it as a difficult addition considering there's already a death date.
Without the divorce date and even with the extra spousal relationships, the linked spouses become confusing, especially for those looking at the tree from outside.
I'm assuming you are talking about the Windwos FTB software? Right click in the marriage box below the two partners in the tree view. Change the status from Married to Divorced, click on the Facts tab, select the Divorce fact and add a date, place, citation etc.
