Maybe i am overlooking this option but i think it would be really handy to have seperate fields to fill in the names of the witnesses at batptismes, weddings an/or deathcertificats.
Now i am using the field "fact-notitation" buth i dont find this very handy.
First of all, great job with this website and program!
I was wondering if it will be possible in the near future to fill in multiple first names or middle names as well. In the present situation, a name as John Peter Gusdorf for instance (with John the first name, Peter the middle) is seen as John-Peter. This way, the stats about first names doesn't make any sense. If it would be possible to fill in first and (multiple) middle names separately, the stats about names would be a lot better because you can see how often some name (first or middle) is used within the family (so x times John, y times Peter, instead of 1 times John-Peter).
I have seen a number of posts about this subject, so I reckon there are more people who would see this as a big improvement!
It has been a year since Vincent wrote about this and you sent it to the right department. As Per also wrote it's not always the "first" of the first names that the person are called, at least not here in Sweden. The majority of citizens have more then one first name. So it would be great to be able to "mark" which one of the entered first names that is the name they are called.
Perhaps in a separate box, by right-clicking the name and mark it or by entering an @ in front of it. Anders @Sven Gunnar gives "Sven" in the tree. Some have doubble first names without a hyphen, so Anders @Sven @Gunnar gives "Sven Gunnar".
In Sweden the other first names is not called middle names, so a box for middle name wouldn't do it for us.
I would find it helpful if I could delete your suggested smart matches which are not applicable to our family. Is there a way of doing this that I have missed.
I'm sure this has been suggested before, but as far as I know, nothing has come of it, so I'm going to give it another go.
The one thing keeping me from loving the Family Tree Builder completely is that when a person has multiple spouses, you can only view one set of children at a time. This is incredibly frustrating, especially if it happens with someone that cuts off half the family tree unless you choose a different spouse.
I will be sure to forward your request to our Development team.
In the mean time, you might want to use the online All in One chart to see the whole tree at once. This can be accessed in the Family Tree > Print charts page.
If you upgrade your account to Premium,
you will be able to generate an All in one chart in Family Tree Builder as well.
Today I found someone who could be a member of my family. Also I found someone who could be his son.
I don't link this person to my tree, cos I'm not sure yet. So I thought: Wouldn't it be nice to add people and Tag them (also visually) as insecure? May the rectangle has a different color, or a border, or something like this...?

Hi Michael !
Did you mean, that "insecure" members are those users who have restricted privileges (access rights) in your family site/tree ?
If so, then maybe it's about the similar option I've recently suggested below:
"I managed to find potential relatives from other family trees on your site (and some others, too). I would like to provide them an access to my tree for examination and looking for common ancestors... But I don't want to grant read-write privileges to my site for unknown people. As well, I don't want to turn off editing privileges for all existing members of the family site via "Settings > Privacy > Members" menu.
In general, it would be useful to implement an option for granting view-only access to my site/tree for individual Myheritage.com users without having them to become members of the family site. Hope, contacting people across your site (and making genealogic searches) would be more effective with this option! "
With an inscure family member I mean someone you found and you only guess it could be a member of your family tree. Maybe this person has the same surname and lived by an location where it could be possible that this person belongs to your tree. But you are not sure yet, cos your informations of this person are to unsure.
So you can add this person to your tree, but tag him as insecure. If you have more informations you can insert the person as a real member of your family, or delete him.

This looks like something I would like to be able to do - the suggestion is over 2 years old now, has anything been done and if so how do I use the feature?
No we haven't implemented a specific type of membership that allows you to grant "read-only" access to the tree.
However you can do that already simply by giving someone a link to your family site. Granted, they won't see sensitive information about living individuals in the tree, but they will be able to view the tree and site with no editing privileges as a guest.
If you decide later that you'd like to make this person a member then send an invitation.
Sorry I was following on from the main reason behind the thread. It is not members but people in the tree that are a best guess. It would be good to tag or color their square so that I remember to go back to them and do more research.
