Does the "appropriate department" have any way for us users to have a peek on what is to come in regard of improvements and features?I have followed the blog, but there is very seldomly postings by the developers.
Although there is no formal way to mark someone in your tree as a half sibling, if you do add a half sibling of yours to your tree, and then publish it to your site, you will see your relationship to that person as a half brother or sister.
I agree. Especially for relatives who immigrated - there may be more than one spelling, and different names that people took on in the United States in order to anglesize their name (both first and last!). In addition, often they had "family familiar names" which the next generation only knew them by. So, perhaps a different field for the first, middle and last names and a separate field for the different spellings or shortened name by which they were generally known by friends and family.
Except for a separation of first and middle names, this appears to have been implemented.
Good name-handling for religious names, changed names, nicknames, aliases, and alternate spellings are found in Family Tree Builder 5.1 Build 5365. There's also the ability for an individual to have multiple names.
On the family home page, in the What's New area, is it possible to allow a lengthier message and the option for others to comment right there .. sort of like Facebook comments. Would encourage greater interaction between members. Thanks
If I am correct, and I believe I tried it out, the message space available is somewhat short. I sort of hoped to be able to post short "how to's" here for help in navigating through the site - for those with more computer challenges. Also, this Family News place does not allow for comments directly related to whatever statement is posted.. Not friendly and does not promote interaction. Still want to see my original request addressed. Thanks for responding.
I think it is really a need for a correct all-in-one chart.
I mean, a chart that would show all the people from the same generation, in the same generational level. Of course, this would make some long format charts, but it is more correct and many users would use it !
Wanted, a simple way to wade through the countless name-specific 'FAMILY TREE SITES' urgently needs investigation. Smart-Matches have recently cut through the same to find me appreciating two now proven links hereto unknown! If I could enter a sought name and basic details where it was crunched to reduce it to a few possibles, that would save hours of needless work? Encouraging Members to specify key Name/s and or Locations in Tree-Titles would go a long way towards this as 'knowns' might just link and reduce search perhaps?
Is it possible to list ALL additions or modifications individually instead of "7 others"? This would definitely help viewers know who is new; otherwise new people or adjustments would be overlooked very easily. I would appreciate a response.
