I would like to suggest an "undo" button! There have been times where I have accidentaly deleted someone from my tree say who had the same name, but which was the wrong one to delete. An undo button would certainly help! :)
As it is now the date is only shown as a ? if you i.e have typed "Before 18 feb 1818" . n many other places it is show as <18 feb1818 or in short <1818. If shown as suggested the comparence of Smart Matches would be easier in tree view and the need for clicking the persons to view info at left side would not be neccessary. On late Saturday I received 7000 new Smart Matches and it has taken me 4 day and I still not finished with reviewing them. It would save a lot of time if the date in any form was present.
<1818 = Before 1818
> = After
~ = About
Dont know how to handle "Between" if only one year is used. Maybe "><1818" where 1818 is the first date. I think it is the first date only that is showing today in this case.
We currently do not have this option, although thank you for the suggestion. I will be sure to forward it to the appropriate department for consideration.
Please let me know if you have any other ideas as we do value such input from our users.
When I usualy add people to my tree it is via the Family Tree page.
Usualy I enter thier initial detail only (dates, names...). However, sometimes I have more details I can add (workplaces, colledge degree, place of birth...). Problem arises because there is somewhat of an inconvenience adding these piecs of data from the Family Tree page (as Facts).
Can you please implement an easier way to add these facts via the Family Tree page? I know that these details & more can be added in the Profile pages of each family member, however, that makes our job of adding more data longer and not that intuitive.
I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.
In order to change your browser home page, go to Tools > Options / Internet Options (both on Internet Explorer and Firefox) and there you will have to option to change the homepage.
Fore more information, take a look at the following FAQ:
Please note that next time when you install Family Tree Builder, you can avoid this, by choosing Custom Install in the Setup Options page and turning off the change of homepage.

I had found that annoying too. It didn't take long to fix, but like the OP, I was 'pissed' that I had to fix it at all. It was a change you made without my knowledge or consent and IMO is damned poor customer relations.
As another poster wrote, "I'm not impressed, however, with discovering after installing the update that you'd hijacked my browser home page and replaced it with your own. That kind of stuff makes me wary of using your software for fear that you feel free to mess with other parts of my computer as well. "
My suggestion is to have the default for that option set to OFF in the standard install. At the very least, include a notice that it is an option and allow me to turn it off in the standard installation.
Thanks for your reply. Original post was a year ago, which was plenty of time to have incorporated the suggestion in V7.0. Perhaps the issue no longer applies in that version. I'll find out as soon as I can get 7.0 to download and run.
The only way to see if there is a post as answer on your own post is to check the sub forum where you put your post or remember the counter values in the Forum main page. It is only when someone create a new post the name is updated in the Forum main page. I do get the notis mail but I am not always at my home computer where the mail is delivered.
If the Forum main page was updated everytime a post is added by anyone anywhere, it would save a lot of time. Perhaps a cookie with the counter values can be used to indicate when to show a "new post" image.
We currently do not have this (currently we show the word "new" next to new posts only in the sub forums and not in the main forum page), although thank you for the suggestion. I will be sure to forward it to the appropriate department for consideration.
Hi, My problem is that I have been getting a lot of matches to check but they are copied from my site. A confirm seems wrong as it is not a true independant check so could there be another choice CONFIRM< CONFIRM COPY and REJECT as is in the builder program. Also the MISS MATCH MACHINE seems to be crossing similar names but different dates, spouses/parents etc.
It's been a few years since I tried the My Heritage Family Tree Builder software, and I must say I'm impressed with the improvements that have been made. I'm not impressed, however, with discovering after installing the update that you'd hijacked my browser home page and replaced it with your own. That kind of stuff makes me wary of using your software for fear that you feel free to mess with other parts of my computer as well. So... thanks for the offer, but no thanks.

Just had the same thing happen to both my Internet Explorer and Firefox. I'm an IT professional and can undo this pretty easily but what was once a company I liked alot and had alot of respect for several years ago seems to dabbling in some of the worst of the internet business practices lately.
Not once was I ever asked to "opt in" to having my browser settings modified. This is reprehensible behavior and unless things change for the better I'm probably not going to renew my premium data subscription.

I think there needs to have a watermark option avaliable for photographs , the infomation that is out there plus a photo attached to that info can be used in a wrong manner and will also stop people just taking family photo's
