In a group photo, even when many faces are tagged in one sitting by a single person, multiple copies of the same photo come up in the home page, showing each tagging seperately, unnecessarily cluttering the home page.
I think this problem can be solved if a' All done' tab is introduced and all information combined on a single photo, after the 'All done; tab is clicked
I have often looked at the tree of another member who I think might have some of my family in the tree. I have looked through the People list (family Tree tab in Web site, click on People in the drop down menu) but it only shows a few people on each page and unless you are looking for one specific person it is far too time-consuming to be useful in a quick search of surnames.
Could that list display a simple list of family names (without initials) before the detailed list? That should be simple to arrange and it would be great; I could quickly and easily glance at another web site to see if family are likely to be there, then search if it looks as though it would be worth the effort. If it is practical a number in brackets after the name, to show how many of them are in the tree, would be wonderful.
The list of names that you have mentioned is a list of names that appears after the site manager has personally invited those people via their email address's therefore not all people that appear in the family tree are necessarily represented within the list.
However your suggestions have been noticed and it may be possible that our development team will take these into consideration for future updates.
Hi, Dean, and thank you for your reply. HOWEVER, I am NOT talking about the list of site members!!!
Please re-read my letter, carefully. I spoke of the FULL List of 'PEOPLE' in the family tree, sometimes thousands of them, maybe ten to a page and hundreds of pages.
If there were a summary of surnames, showing the number of people with each surname, it would greatly simplify a quick evaluation of whether that tree would contain helpful information about members of my own family. At present it is not practicable to look through the full list; I have tried it a couple of times.
Other members' family trees are a great resource but I can't take the time to slowly look through each one that looks interesting.
There is a difference between your MyHeritage account information and the info in your family tree.
Your MyHeritage account had your birth date listed as 1999. I fixed it for you.
If you need to make changes to your MyHeritage account in the future, hold your mouse over your name in the upper right corner of the screen and then click on Account Settings. "Edit Profile" to make changes.
Why not start a separate project for your pets if it is your pets pedegree you want to record.
Or, under Facts for a person you can add your own Events and that could be I.E. Pets.
If it is all your ancestors you want to add pets to, I think you can only record a generation or two back in time before all records are missing. To add such function for so little information would be a waste of developing time when so much other things need to be fixed.
By the way I loved my Birman cat Musse whom I had for 17 years and now I have Cornelis and Felicia who are also Birman cats.
I love my pets as if they were my kids, but I would absolutely and unequivocally and vehemently oppose any such action! Family trees are about human descent and other family connections by blood or adoption or marriage or other human partnerships. Pets can be honored in other ways, in pictures for instance. Or they can be included in family tree identifier pictures with their human guardian.
I've seen from perusing the forum message boards that large numbers of users have been requesting a version for Mac's for a number of years now. The reply is that it is definitely on our plans.
Could you be more specific about this please ? Are you in the process of developing new software, or is this just a long term plan with no development start date scheduled ? If the former, what is the prospective release date ?
Having now moved to a Mac as my main computer, I need to have some definite idea of where things are, so that I can decide whether to stick with My Heritage or move to alternative software which would be Mac compatible.
Unfortunately I do not feel that the current promoted work around of an editable on-line site, is the solution for me.
I need to echo these comments, as I too have recently switched to a Mac as my primary home computer, and now have no way of leveraging the software features that led me to initially choose MyHeritage. Managing and editing my data from the online site is not comparable, or an adequate long-term solution. I have begun exploring alternatives, and fear that I too will need to search elsewhere for Mac friendly options. If this is not on the horizon, please be transparent about it.
While clicking on the small blue and pink boxes, if any, on the top of the main box of the individuals in the tree, takes one to the brach of that particular individual, there appears to be no way of coming back to the original page having the main tree
