By mistake I added an extra generation between the grandparents and the parents. Meanwhile I already wrote everything else – grandparent's brothers – children – grandchildren etc. I want to erase only the empty box with the extra generation but it says that I first have to erase all relatives! What can I do?
The information in the calendar alerts and newsletters is taken from the information in the family tree. It is the same for members and non-members. If you would like to adjust something in the calendar alerts/newsletters, you'll need to adjust it in the family tree.
Currently the only way to remove names or birthdates from the alerts would be to remove them from tree.
Hello, I entered a family member into FTB & uploaded him & he was on the website. I then sent him an invite to join the site & whilst he is still there in 'Tree View' on the site, he comes up as 'Unknown Unknown' on the list of people who I have invited to the site. I've checked and and he is not set up as being privatised. Any suggestions?
I have apparently lost my photos from my latest published tree. I have two trees published, an earlier one WITH the photos, and a later one WITHOUT the photos. I think i published these two files from different computers so they got a new ID.
I can't find any way to move the photos from the older file to the newer one. I was hoping there would be a "download/upload" option for photos I could use. I'm really - REALLY hoping I don't have to reload all the photos again individually.
I have a HUGE problem. I have two people listed as maried (and there are number of children and grandchildren entered already) but it turned out that actually the father should be a different person of the same name. So If I could enter the correct marriage details and move the children to the new father, half of my problem would be solved. The other part would be to delete the "wrong" marriage - without deleting the wrong husband because his sister (and what follows him) flows into a different part of my tree. So basicly I would like to be able to do two things:
1) move all children to the correct father, and
2) remove the incorrect marriage (is there a way to break that marriage link?)
A bit complicated but seems I may have this problem in more places in my tree. Please let me know if there is a way of fixing this otherwise I may need to reenter information for hundreds of people and I am not up to it ....
Is there a manual telling us how to accomplish various things on our site? A few days ago I asked for help with making a square around my sister's face to identify her as she was the only unidentified person in the photo. No reply. I'm having other questions and don't know where to go. Doesn't joining My Heritage entitle us to support? The "Help" function doesn't help. Must I pay more for support? I want a reply from Marsha Goodwin. Thanks.
i'm wondering about using information from others sites (smart matches) & research. is this permissable? are there rules & regs about this? i don't mind sharing my information but certainly wouldn't want others to think i 'stole' their infomation.
I have struggled with this problem also and have resolved it for myself as follows. I am delighted to share whatever information I have with fellow myHeritage users and therefore have made my family tree accessible to all other users. If they want more, all they have to do is ask or request to become a member of my site and have full access. If one does not want to share any information at all, one should make one's site completely private. I have gratefully used and down-loaded information from other sites, but I always try to let the owner know with a thank-you note whenever possible. When there is a smart match with a completely private site, I try to contact the owner, who sometimes responds but often not. I hope this helps.
