Changing the GUI to japanese works perfectly, so does entering data in japanese. But Charts and Reports only display "." (dots) instead of the entered japanese characters. Changing the Report fonts to jap fonts doesn't help, even though "サンプル" (Sample) is displayed correctly in that dialog. ... this problem makes the software almost useless to japanese (all Asian?) families. Platform: Windows 7 x64

How do I correct an error in someone else's tree? I've gotten several matches in which it's stated that I died in 1966. In fact, it was my father who died then, and not me -- 47 years later, I'm very much alive! What's the procedure in a situation like this?
It depends on whether the other user is still active, in which case you could simply send a message via myheritage mail.
BUT if the user is now unfinancial and no longer active- then you have stumbled on one of myheritage's insumountable issues.
The error of data CANNOT be corrected- by anyone other that the originator. If you cant contact hime then its too bad.
The problem THEN gets worse becuase other users see the errant data, and as it remains uncorrected it soon becomes substantialted by volume matching- ie several users match to it therfore it MUST be correct.
The mere fact that it is in error and has been identified as error- is lost and once again truth and facts are overwhelemed by myheritage and its inabilty to correct and or offer a real soultion. Good Luck.
A long time agoI sent a note to a wrong translation into Norwegian. It applies several reports where it says "NN met MM"This should"NN married MM".Earlier you said that it would be corrected in the next version, but nothing happened. When will this correction.Another question is why can not the reports stored in eg.Word so that we ourselves can make minor mistranslations
Today I recieved a mail with calendar notifications. The first claimed that my mother's birthday is tomorrow. That is false, tomorrow is my father's birthday, but he died last year. They both have correct data in my tree. The second notified me about the wedding anniversary of my uncle and aunt. They are both dead since 10 years and therefore there is nothing to celebrate. The third notified me about the same aunt's birthday. If there are algorithms to check and send out information about relatives, they should at least also check the accuracy and relevance of the information. Otherwise it is pretty useless.
I am sorry to read that you received calender alerts for persons that passed away. Calender updates are based on the details in the persons card in the publication of the family tree in the website.
If the person is marked as alive ( this option can be unmarked) and no death date or details are mentioned the system will send a calender alert. I highly recommend to check the persons cards of the people mentioned and to adjust the details.
I couldn't help but be bothered by the very sexist behavior of this program. I am a single mother. I raised my son from birth to 10 years old very nearly by myself, certainly his father wasn't there for us, but as soon as I put his father's name in (well after my own [the first] and his sons, I was bumped from ID # 1. He takes the "head of household" spot. No. Just no. I don't hate the guy. I don't want him to disappear from my life or my family tree, but he should not get to be the most important person on this tree by default because he is male. I put myself in first and labeled myself the Home person. Please see me as my own Most important person in my own family tree!
The Id numbers are nothing to worry about as these are nothing important Genealogically speeking and are only internal to the programming of the software.
You will notice that when you log into your online family web site and open the family tree you are in fact the home person.
We apologoze for any discomfort this may have caused you.
Hello everyone. I've never posted before, but I've used Family Tree Builder for several years. I never upgraded to Premium, although I think I've published my tree because I have a message saying my tree limit is exceeded. My problem is that I recently started adding photos to my FTB. After a few entries, I realized I misidentified two people in a group photo. I tried to find that photo in the "photos" tab of FTB, but it was not there. I tried to find it from the person page (it shows as entered in the tree), when I click on photos in the bottom right corner, it takes me back to the "Photos" tab and theres' nothing there. More curious is the fact that there are 3 photos shown in the FTB "Photos" tab, but at the bottom of the FTB window, it shows "6 photos". How can I fix this mess?
I subscribed to your premium plan last week and when I went to upload my genealogy to the Family tree builder it said that I had to upgrad to premium to get more than 250 names. What gives? I am beginning to wonder if I have been had and I think I have. Then I tried to find where I gould get some help to resolve the problem and could not find anything! Nothing that would hep resolve the problem. I heard peopld saying really great things about this web site at Roots Tech a few weeks agoe and was sold on it. However, I am changing my mind. Right now I am not getting my moneys worth out of this site. If there is anybody who monitors this forum, I would really like to know how to contact this site builders.
Hi Thomas,Thank you for writing to us. You purchased a Data Subscription, which allows you to research your family names using our special research tool,SuperSearch. You also get Record Matches for free with your Data Subscription. Record Matches searches the names in your tree automatically and notifies you if there are records that match those names.
You have full access to all the historical records in SuperSearch now as long as you are logged into MyHeritage.com with your email address.
A family site subscription is a different subscription type from a Data Subscription. Premium and PremiumPlus family site subscriptions allow you to add more individuals to your family tree and give you more storage for photos and documents. They also give you access to some of the Premium features at MyHeritage, such as automatically merging names and dates into your tree from SmartMatches.
I still do not get it. I have a data search subscription so how does it know what my tree looks like if I cannot upload it. Also why don't you tell people that there are several types of subscriptions and the differences between them. I am still very confused about your programs and just what they provide. How can I use the data with no family tree? Very confusing. I am not very impressed at this point. You need to explain this a little better or I am ready to ask for my money back.
