I think My Heritage is the best online solution for tracking and sharing your family three but there are a few things I dont like.
Some of the things I dont like is worrying me enough to not wanting to buy a license.
1. When I tried to pay for a licensed version I get a phone call just seconds after entering it to the form. I don't like this and did not go through with the purchase.
2. Sometimes when I start my Computer I get I reminder telling me to buy the premium version. This would be ok if I could close the reminder. This is not possible. Even with windows task manager I am not able to close the window. The only whay to get rid of it is by restarting my computer. This worries me and makes me think that this is software designed to take controll over my computer. (Se attachment for screen dump of window)
My computer is a Windows 7 Premium 64bit with 8GB RAM 2GHz Quad core CPU and plenty free HD space.
Somehow I have deleted someone in error in FTB. Now I have 50 matches in my web site to various families that say pending, but with no one there to match. Obviously this is the deleted person. How do I retrieve that information so I can confirm or reject these mystery matches?
Since you have an extensive family tree, after editing your tree it takes a while for the Smart Matching feature to recalculate the Smart Matches for your tree.
Please let me know if you still have pending Smart Matches after a couple of days.
When I attempt to convert upload FTL files I get an error message 204.3. Why is this? Is there a size limit on files?
Hi John:
Have you had any luck with the conversion of your FTL file to Family Tree Maker? I had to do the opposite a couple of years ago because FTM would no longer accept my FTM file... but now it's FTL which no longer accepts my FTL file. So I would entertain going back to FTM.
Please be aware that FTM is not a MyHeritage software but Family Tree Builder (FTB) is.
May I please suggest you to first download the latest version of our software and try again to export your file?
You can download the software by going to the link http://www.myheritage.fr/family-tree-builder
If it still doesn't work, please send me your file by sending an e-mail to support@myheritage.com
Kind regards
Michael,

Hi Michael:
I had already done exactly that. FTB didn't accept my damaged FTL file however. And importing a previous (4-month-old) FTL working file resulted in a FTB file with usuable media... as it seems that for FTB to be able to display the included media (pictures, etc). depends on whether the media sources still are they were when the media were added initially... which obviously is unlikely unless one starts from scratch. I was disappointed.
However if you thing my damaged FTL file can somehow be recoved by FTB, in spite of the lack of attached media, then I would be willing to go with FTB anyway a, at least, my data would be current again, and I could gradually reintroduce the media in some spare time without lagging behind in the actual genealogy data.My current data included some 101,400 individuals after some 20 years of work; my 4-month-old file has some 93,000. It would be extremely difficult to go back in time to reinstate gradually some 8,000 individuals... while continuing to add new entries as new data is revealed (current marriages, births, deaths, etc.
If you think thare is good prospect in sending you my damaged FTL file (1.9GB), then I would be prepared to send it to you.
You suggest that I send my damaged FTL file send it to the email support@myheritage.com. I certainly cannot send such a big file by email... If you read my note carefully, the file size is 1.9GB! And it took me more than a lot of days to create... As I also said in my note, I have been at this for 20 years!
So please let me know the alternative to send you this file.
I have about a dozen photo albums that can not be deleted. They are duplicates and empty, created by other members. I have tried everything to get rid of them. Any ideas?
Thank you, but there are no 'more actions' button. That was the first thing I tried. All of the albums that I want to keep have them, but the empty, duplicate albums do not. I have even tried adding photos into them to see if it would then give me the option to delete, but it said to choose a destination folder. Photo adder dose not recognize them.
For an album that was published from Family Tree Builder, in order to delete it, please go to Photos and Videos > Find, and there you will see a list of your albums, and you will see the delete option.
