Hi...I had an account a while back and am trying to access it once again. I know the email address for the account (chris.mcguyer@osi.com), but I do not have access to that account (previous job). Is there a way to retrieve/reset the password to that account?
I recently started using this site and I had upgraded my account in haste. I do not think I need the upgraded subscription as much as I had originally thought. I have tried to find a place to contact support directly. I have gone to the help page and clicked on "Contact form" and all it does is refresh the help assistance box. I was able to google myhertiagesupport and found something and tried to send stuff there but I am not certain if it went through. Anything I can do?
Thank you for responding to me via email. I do however still wish to cancel my subcription and get a refund.
Thanks,
Stephanie
Dear Stephanie,
I would like to cancel my subscription and get a refund as well. Has your situation been solved?
Barbara
Hi Barbara,
I was able to speak to somebody via phone. They assured me my sub would be canceled and I would get a refund within a week. They were most helpful once I was able to talk to them directly. Just waiting on processing the refund. Hope this helps.
Our Family Tree Builder software doesn't have a Mac version yet.
We've received many requests for this, so producing a Mac version is definitely in our plans. In the meantime, you can wait until we have a Mac version, or continue to grow your tree online.
A tree can be built online on MyHeritage.com, using a Mac. If you have a tree already and it has been published into your own family site on MyHeritage.com, we can, at your request, flip a switch so you'll be able to continue editing your tree online on your Mac, with a browser.
Please let me know if you'd like that. You can also import an existing tree into MyHeritage.com via import GEDCOM, and then continue editing it online on the Mac. Let me know if you need assistance with this.
You have three family trees. Two of those trees are already editable online. The third tree with 7 people in it was published from Family Tree Builder. I changed that one for you.
As for your other trees, you can already edit them online. If you need help with that, let me know. I'll be happy to give you tips for editing online.
Thanks so much, I've gone online and can manage my trees quite easily now.
I need to ask you how I can combine my two trees, my Arpin Family Tree and the other one, Lisette's Family Tree, should actually have been one tree, they are duplicates. I would like to have Lisette's Family Tree as the main one with the Arpin one integrated.
I have asked previously for this to be done and even to have the Arpin one cancelled but it has not been done for me.
It is possible to merge two family tree projects in Family Tree Builder.
In order to merge trees one of them will have to be exported to GEDCOM file format. Any time you export or import a GEDCOM file of your tree any photo in the tree must be replaced manually.
IF YOU EDIT YOUR FAMILY TREE ONLINE YOU MUST FIRST DOWNLOAD FAMILY TREE BUILDER AND EXPORT A GEDCOM FILE OF YOUR TREE FROM YOUR FAMILY SITE (FAMILY TREE > MANAGE TREES PAGE).
To do a merge, export one project into a GEDCOM file.
Then open the other project, and choose import GEDCOM. You will be asked if you would like to close the project that is now open you should click on yes.
In one of the steps of the wizard you will be faced with the question of whether to import the GEDCOM into a new project, or into the last project. Chose the last project, and they will be merged. See below the option you need to pick in ‘Import GEDCOM’ in order to get the merge working in Family Tree Builder.
Before doing this, please backup both of your projects (using File > Back up project) so that if the merging isn’t to your liking, you can always revert back to your previous trees.
Find and delete duplicates in the merged tree:
Please note that merging the two trees will not automatically merge people who appear in both trees. This means that you will need to detect duplicates manually. This can be done by sorting alphabetically, and then deleting them. Another option is using the “check for duplicates tool” by going to Tools > Check for duplicates.
I have an basic profile in MyHeritage and I have a few smart matches with another family trees. But when i want to contact them, there is a link to upgrade to premium acount... Is it possible to contact them in another way then upgrade, please???
