Is there a way to upgrade the size of my family tree without paying for the research tools?
I really don't need to search the databases. What I only really want is to be able to add more people to my family tree and use the statistics and generate the family tree posters and books. Is there any "hidden," and cheaper, subscription plans for this idea?
I was kinda hoping there was some kind of hidden menu, like at In and Out Burger. You just have to ask and they will make it for you, although it's not advertised. Too bad, I was willing to pay for the service I wanted. Oh well, couldn't hurt to ask.
I received an email saying an automatic renewal had been aspplied. I don't want this so I immediately cancelled the renewal, on the same day I got the email, and then closed the acoount to ensure that no money would be taken from my Credit Card.
In the event my credit card has been debitted £114.49 even though I closed the account (6th June) immediately i saw the notice of renewal.
I cancelled this because I didn't want this renewal.
There will be no futher use, from myself, on this account, so I do not expect to pay for a year of non-use.
Same thing happened to me. Today I got a call informing me that I cannot cancel once it has been renewed. They offered me a discount and told me to change my preferences from automatic renewal to manual so it doesn't renew again NEXT May.
What a scam. I cannot find how to make the change from automatic to manual. I find the place that indicates annual renewal but see no way to edit it. I will never recommend this site.
1) The autorenewal can be switched off in your account settings.
2) I spoke to my Credit Card Company and they said that I could cancel my membership and then ask Myheritage.com for the unwanted unused annual renewal money. The say that, if I don't get this back they can pay me back for the unused portion after a couple of weeks. That would amount to most of the annual fee.
I cancelled my subscription, but the automatic renewals kept coming.
I asked for a refund but haven't gotten a response.
I opened a dispute on Plimus (MyHeritage is one of their companies) to dispute the charge. Here is the data from the Plimus dispute:
Date created (PST)
Unfamiliar transaction (I didn't buy this) - I was charged $75.00 by MyHeritage on 6/10. I did not authorize this transaction. Please refund this to my account IMMEDIATELY. I have contacted MyHeritage multiple times about this, but have received NO RESPONSE
The same thing has happened to me. I didn't get the email until the evening of the ending of the 7 day free trial and it said I would be charged for the subscription, I contacted my bank, who said they would block the transaction, but I have checked and my heritage have taken £90.00. I have contacted their customer services for a refund but have yet to hear anything. This a big scam invoicing you for some thing you didn't ask for.
7 day trial should end after 7 days not before the 7th day is up - you took £90 from my account - this is not what I expected from a bona fide ancestry site! Please restore my faith and restore my bank balance. Thank you in advance.
Nah, I wasn't charged. I already notified them before my subscription had expired that I would not be renewing my premium plus membership.
However, instead of automatically reverting you back to basic membership (which I thought would happen too), your account essentially 'locks' and you can't even view your family tree. It tells you that you need to renew your account to continue using the site (has all the options to upgrade bar the revert back to basics ha). After doing a quick search I found that the only way to get back to basic is to contact myheritage directly, which is shocking.
