I am a single parent. I have an adopted daughter which MyHeritage allows me to accurately list. However, I also have a natural born son, but I am not married to the mother. I want to list her as the mother, but when I do that, it also automatically assumes that this woman is the mother of my adopted daughter - which is not the case. How do I fix this?
In order to show an adopted child separately from your natural child, and current partner - please follow the steps below:
Please open your family tree project in the fAmily Tree Buidelr prgoam > go to your profile > add an unknown (fictional) partner > add your adopted daughter to this couple.
On your daughter's profile, go to "edit" > parents > manage parents > in the relationship section. choose " adopted".
Then, please go back to your profile > edit > spouses > add a spouse > add your current partner > add your natural son.
Then, on your profile's card - you will see both spouses, please go the unknown partner > edit > person > delete.
This will show your adopted daughter and natural son, under separate couples of parents.
Ok, it sort of worked, but I want to see my adopted daughter's profile box next to my natural born son's profile box, under my profile. Also, because I am not married to (and never was) to the mother of my natural son, I don't want her profile seen next to mine as if we were a couple, but I still want all her information there in the database.
Unfortunately, in the two children won't be displayed beneath you side-by-side in family Tree Builder, because they will be displayed according to the spouse you are shown with. However, your details will list that you have 2 children in Edit Details> Children
You can change your status with your son's mother in Spouses> Manage spouses to a status that suits your relationship, but you will still be displayed next to her as your daughter's parents.
I am trying to restore a family tree project from MyHeritage.com to Family Tree Builder. After selecting the tree, it starts downloading and gets to 10% before it stops and gives the message, "Projects not restored successfully". Does anyone have any idea why it is failing to download my project?
"File > Restore Project" does not work. As I said, it downloads 10% and then stops, giving me the message "Project Not Restored Successfully."
"Family tree > Manage Trees > Download to Family Tree Builder" is not possible because the tree was uploaded by GEDCOM. Maybe this is why the project cannot be restored to Family Tree Builder? I know I can download the tree as a GEDCOM, import it into Family Tree Builder, and publish it back to MyHeritage.com, but then I will have two trees on my site, which I want to avoid. Any ideas?
So, is the bug fixed? Because I downloaded Family tree builder 7 and it tryed to sync with my site but didnt, and now I cannot edit my site, there is no data in Family tree builder and when I try to restore from the internet I get the following message: tree 'David del Coso Westerman" was not downloaded successfully... Please help, I am giving up!
I wrote directly to MyHeritage support, and they claimed they handled it for me. I'll try to take a look at JewishGen to see if any updates appear there. I actually live close to Beit HaTfutsot, so I may go there to see if my tree has been added there, as well/
I would love to have the simple family tree view that is on the left of the screen to print out. It would be so easy for me to look at this and figure out where I have to do more research. Does anyone know how to do that? I cant even copy and paste.
