What have I done wrong: I created my family tree in Family Tree Builder and published it, but now if I click "family tree" on my site, it is all empty. What should I do?
I have imported many large pictures from books and after import the size had changed to a max of 2000*X pixels.
A JPG file in 2968x1912 pixels with a file size of 776 kb is changed to 2000x1288 pixels with a file size of 559 kb.
The problemisthatafterimportingthe text isunreadable. Are there any way to avoid this?
2) Open the file c:\Program Files\MyHeritage\Cfg\Main.cfg (if it is an XP install) or c:\Users\<Usernanme>\AppData\Roaming\MyHeritage\Cfg\Main.cfg in a text editor
3) Add the following line at the end of the Main.cfg file:
"Photos","Photo Max Dimension Size",I,"5000"
4) Save and close
5) Open FTB again and readd the photot
6) It should work now since the limit is not 2000 pixels but 5000 pixels
Since your tree was created in Family Tree Builder and then published to your family site, it can be viewed on the site , but not edited by you or your family site members.
what you can do is to edit the tree in Family Tree Builder, the software on your computer, and then republish your tree to your family site.
I continue to have problems editing and addind new members. I DO NOT KNOW where to go into software to edit. Can you point me specifically to the screen I need to be on. I keep getting a screen saying I built this on Family Tree Builder. I can not find how to get to that. This is becoming very disturbing and frustrated. Please helo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I try to help you. Open your family tree in the Family Tree Builder. You will see the screen you added the members of your family and on the left side a list of the name of members. In this list choose the name of the person you want to edit. Click twice on her or his name and you will see her or him on the screen. At the right bottom of the box of the person you find the word 'edit'. Click on it twice and from the list you see choose the first. Than you will see the same screen as you filled in when you added members. You can change here any data. When you are ready or want to finish the work click on publishing and your family site will contain the new version. I hope that in spite of my pure English I could help you.
In the reports eg. ancestors you can deside if sources should be included as endnotes or fodnotes. But it is only the titel of the source there are included.
It would be great if it will be possible to make a report or an option to the fodnote/endnote, with the source title as headline and then all the informations about the source. Like text, notes, pictures, repositories.
And the options to show all names attatch to the source.
Something like the "Index of Places" and "Sources" in the "Book Report"
I have problem after I installed FTB version 5. In FTB suddenly name's are missing. When I published it to my website I sometimes getting unknown name in my website. I delete the name and start again and perhaps it's alright after that.
When I exported it to GEDCOM-file from FTB all names are gone.
It seems to be the language settings which give my problems. I have not changed it but suddenly it running in english in stead of danish. When I changed to danish I can see all my data. I hope it is my problem. I will give 1 or 2 days to see about it solve my problem
I am new here, find it cool here, i would like to make my own family tree and maybe one day find also grand-grand-grand parents...but am a bit confused..
first, I added my profile, but the problem is, that I clicked something (name Helena Petrlikova) and it added some people to my family tree! Now it thinks that I am Helena Petrlikova born in 1926 (think was it), have children and so on...how to delete it without deleted something in real Helena Petrlikovas family? hm
When i see someones tree, one can add children, sisters...but how do I add my family to my name?
To fix your profile at this site, please enter the site - go to the tree and add yourself in a right place- add it to your parents.
Then add all the correct information, your email adress and photo.
The most important step:
Go back to the homepage, go to "site members". Next to your profile click on "more" and then "fix relationship".- write your correct name (the one you added in a right place).
Now your profile is attached to you!
You can then add you close family to your profile in the tree the same way!
I have a site and after that my brother looked in it on the website he said that there was some errors in my tree. When I looked in Family Builder 5 program everything looked OK, but when I looked in the website it did not show the same as in the Family Builder program. Why? I have tried to update the site, but the problem is still the same. There are errors in the names of some people in the tree on the website and also dates are wrong, but everything is correct in the Family Builder program.
Do you only have one tree you publish to on-line? I know when I was a rookie two years ago I inadvertently made an additional tree, which I had to delete.
I see the same thing. I get a green circle smart match when I add somebody and I am excited to see so many matches, only to find that the same person has about 50 of the same tree due to republishing so many times.
