Never mind, I found it myself already, feel pretty stupid now :D
Since I use English as display language, I had also set ANSI as encoding for programs that are not supporting unicode. I changed it in Control panel -> Region and Language and it works fine now :)
Now another person (me) creates a family tree that includes the husband. I ask the husband for his email address and he gives the same aaaaa@hotmail.com address. I enter it against him and then publish my tree. In the published tree the husband will now show with most of the wifes details from her tree !!!!!!!!!!
Obviously the email address was registered first for the wife so gets confused when it is later used for the husband in another tree.
You can enter the same email for two people in their contact information in FTB, but you not on the site. This is because email addresses that are entered on the site associate a member with their account.
Accounts at MyHeritage.com are created using a person’s email address as the unique log in for that account.
Two different accounts cannot share the same log in.
It is necessary to invite each member with a different email address.
We know that many couples share the same email address. We are sorry, but cannot make exceptions in this case.
But I had no idea the wife of the person had used the same email address and created her own tree.
I understand that there needs to be a unique email into MyHeritage. The problem is that you can still use the same email in two family trees run by different people. Maybe there should be a warning or an error to stop this happening. It does not look right when the male had the details of his wife in my tree. The details in someone elses tree should not effect mine.
The only way I have been able to get around it is to move the email address to the wife.
If you have a person who has more than 1 spouse then all the reports in FTB show these spouses in the wrong order. Here is an example......
1. AAAAAA BBBBB [CCCCC] was born on Mar. 29, 1962 in Auckland, New Zealand. She married 1st DDDDD EEEEEE on Feb. 21, 1987 in Ellerslie, Auckland, 1051, New Zealand. She married 2nd FFFFF GGGGGG on Nov. 1, 1981 in Auckland, 1051, New Zealand.
The reports should list the marriages in chronological order.
Are you sure that you selected the correct status for each of these spouses? The problem might be that they are both listed as married, so you might have to change the status of the ex-spouse to divorce or something else.
I would like to participate in this topic, if i may... I noticed a similar behaviour. Mister and misses A and B are maried. Both have an ex-partner. In mister A I manage the spouses, by clicking the button with the green arrow "the last maried spous is now the current one". Save the changes, FTB is showing the correct partner. I do the same for Misses B. Save and exit the edit window. Now, when looking at the screen (both mister and Ms A and B are the main persons) mister A is showing with ex-spouse C first, and under Ms C you see Ms B. On the other side, Ms B is showing first Mr A, then Mr D. Iow, Ms B is OK, Mr A is not OK. Ms B is active (bold frame around here info), and the correct children are showing underneath.
The funny part is that when I edit Mr A, and manage spouses, I click the green button again, and Ms B is the current spouse again. I save, and see that the info on the card from Ms B has changed.... Now Mr D is on top, followed by Mr A. Still the correct child info is showing. If I activate the father of Ms B, I see that his daughter Ms B is listed as maried with Mr D, allong with the children they have. This is wrong, since Mr A is the current spouse. I can go back and edit Ms B, but saving the info will result in that the info in the card of Mr A becomes wrong again....
I hope you understand what I am trying to explain here :o).
To fix the problem that you report, please make sure that all marriage and divorce dates are added to all spouses, and that the status is correct for the married and divorced.
Also, try to detach and re-attach them to each other.
All mariage dates are OK. I can not see where I should enter divorce dates. There is no entry field for this. The status looks OK for all spouses.
I detached and re-attached one couple. After detaching all seemed OK, but after re-attaching them, the problem was the same, and in addition I lost all information on the children from this first marriage.
So, this doesn't look like the right solution. Please tell me, do you have the same issue when you simulate the same setup like I have?
1) please send me a screenshot of the places in your tree project on the new version of the prgoram, where you see those letters.
2) Please tell me what family tree projects are you referring to?
3) And also, have you originally imported those trees from any other genealogy program? Could you pelase tell me what program ( and the version) have you imported the original file for that specific project?
I had several Prjects started to "play around" and imported a GEDCOM file which I created from the programm "ahnenblatt".
Everything worked very fine for several days, the map worked as well. Today I cleaned up, deleted all the old project, changed the save to-folder and uploaded my project. Suddenly it shows "TODO" etc. on the map.
Attached you will find a screenshot of the map. I marked the places where the problem appears. Also the top left part doesn't show the different choices of locations I want to see.
I'm using the Version 6.0.0.5634, Win 7 64 bit.
Please let me know how to fix or if you need any more information.
