I downloaded FTB a couple years back on my old desktop, which has since died. Can I download FTB on my new laptop without having to re-enter all my information?
You can install Family Tree Builder on your new laptop. You can do that here.
Since you have published your family tree online, there will be a backup of your original family tree that you published to your family site on MyHeritage. Please follow these steps to recover the file:
Open a browser and log into your Family Site on MyHeritage.com, then go to the Family Tree tab > Manage Trees page in your Family Site. Choose the tree that you are interested in downloading, and click on the Download link to the right of it. You can then choose to either save the tree, or open it immediately in Family Tree Builder.
Once you have the file downloaded, double click on the file to open it. This should restore your entire project.
my heritage shows the attached messsage whenever I try to start it, I am using windows 7 home 32bit, this has just occured recently, I have not changed anything or installed anything , I have upgraded to the latest version today with no change
I am having this same problem. I tried the above solution. It did not work. When I reinstalled the program, I am still getting the run-time error. Any more suggestions?
well, it's kinda funny that i'm going to answer my question myself. but for documentaion purposes i will.
the problem was that i imported a GEDCOM file (or got it from the family site to FTB) and for some unknown reason i HAVE to create a folder with the same name as the project, and create a sub-folder with the name "Database".
otherwise it gives me the error message.
sounds to me like a bug. why won't he ask me and create the folder himself? :)
I'm considering upgrading to premmium plus and have a question about the payment. If I were to use my debit card would the initial payment be the first monthly fee or the $120?
I see that your tree on your family site has no photos in it. Did the original problem that you are describing occur in Family Tree Builder or on your family site?
Can you please try installing the newest version of Family Tree Builder?
You can change the style of boxes in your chart in Options> Design. You can select boxes in Stylish or Traditional styles.
The number of pages that your chart will be saved on depends on the size of your tree. If you selected your preferences for A3 pages and your chart is saved on 13 pages, changing the style will not make it fit 3 A3 pages. It is too big. You will have to reduce the number of people or generations in it.
If you have any other questions, just let me know.
1) Why menu "Arrange boxes closely to save pages" no effect? It would be better set size of edge around of people.
Menu "Arrange boxes closely to save pages" no effect !!! Edge around of people is to big.
You can change the style of boxes in your chart in Options> Design. >YES
You can select boxes in Stylish or Traditional styles. > YES
But all have an edge around of people very big > most of paper is white and free of chart
2) Why is not possible set save chart for example on 3 pages A3 vertical?
When printing your chart, you will have an option to choose A3 pages.
I do not want 14 A3 pages (7 x 2) > I want 3 pages A3 vertical !! Where is this choise?
The number of pages that your chart will be saved on depends on the size of your tree. > NO
The number of pages do not depends on the size of tree, but on the quality FTB
If you selected your preferences for A3 pages and your chart is saved on 13 pages, changing the style will not make it fit 3 A3 pages. It is too big. You will have to reduce the number of people or generations in it.
OK, what is maximum number of people with photos printed on A3 ?
