Example: you do not know when a person died, so in death fact you type in ">1801" or "After 1801" since this is the last record of the individual (if you type ">1801" FTB will change this automatically to "After 1801").
In the tree view you will now see the person "Died: After 1801"
Now, if you change view to the father/mother of this person, a short description the person will be visible right below. The death fact will now be seen as "~1801". This is of course wrong. ~ are the same as "About" not "After" or "Before".
I have sent screenshots directly to support at myheritage dot com since adding attatchments are not working in the forum at the moment.
Edit: the email with screenshots and this report are ticket #2013052010002702
Someone a while back complained of an inability to format the front page.
Please check here ( www.graysgoingback.myheritage.com ) to see some things that are possible and easy.
The welcome message won't take much in the way of HTML, but does like in all its forms.
Colored text and various font styles are simple. Type them in your favorite word processor, copy them, then paste into the welcome messge editor and click save. Most work just fine, and if anything looks bad just redo it.
The online version keeps telling me I have 3 new record matches (which turns out to be 47 matches in 4 collections; their programmers never could count). They're all garbage, as always. I've repeatedly rejected them one by one but there's no "Make it so" or "Save" or "OK" control to confirm the rejections and they keep coming back. And clicking "Reject" for any collection with only a single record gives you this incredible message:
Reject all these Record Matches, and much more...
Choose your plan for accessing your Record Matches and billions of records on MyHeritage
So today I decided to click "Reject All" to get rid of the ten WikiTree matches. To my amazement, I got to the splash screen for buying a data subscription to WVR, with the same incredible message for bulk rejection.
Yes, they want me to pay to reject the crap and stop the nuisance messages. It never ends!
It would be better if, when flashing up a figure of £5.76 to obtain Record Matches, andwhen one is already on the Premium Plus system, that the next page does not show that the cost will be £82.76! This is a nonsense, and irritating.
The Record Matches that came up were of no value, the data was already known, and one of them was erroneous. I am sure that my cousin would be surprised if she woke up one morning and discovered thsat the man next to her was a Texan, and not the languid Brit she was used to!
In V6 of the family tree builder we indeed forwarded our customers to our partner company World Vital Records. This was the decision that was made mainly because during that time we still didn't develop our own system to search through the records effectively. In v7 we have fixed this and pointed to our record matches system.
When you get forwarded to our partner company your data subscription is not valid there, because they have their own subscription system.
So it is not really a bug, but more of an out-dated design (which is another reason to upgrade and stick to the newer version).
Only idea: This appears, as problem with write rights into secured windows programs folder. As simplest test, try run FTB as Administrator (right click on FTB icon, Run as...). And, do not forget update to latest build.
When I have looked in the tabs under Photos I've found a check box for Scanned documents. However it seams that it is disabled - or am I doing anything wrong?
Since the update with V7 the report have made som changes that I didn't like with the notes in a separate chapter, I decided to purchase The complete Genealogy Reporter. In this software there is a feature with scanned documents that can be extracted in a report. But if the document can't be tagged in the original source as a scanned document it will not be extracted!
In latest public build of FTB7 (7105) i have no problem with this checkmark. Try this: while inserting new scan, select directly Add new document, instead Photography. Next you must select mask *.* below, and so you can see all file types. Find your document (scanned in .JPG) and go through wizzard. Hope this helps.
You can try still any actions: close your project, and open Sample (JFK), and try it here. Goes it? Or, create new empty test project.
As latest possibility: Try carefully local backup your whole project (tree photos), then rename data folder, uninstall FTB7, optionaly clean manually registry, purge remained pieces of FTB in Programs. Then try clear setup with latest build, including sample project. After this, here must be it functionaly. Then, you can restore your production data from secured local backup. And test it.
I have 2 cases in my tree where the wife's husband is not the father of one of the children but the only options I have are to detach both parents and attach or add a new set of parents.
In one case the youngest child was born a year after the husband's death. FTB throws up an error but the only options to fix it are to change the birthdate of the child or the death date of the father, no option to simply remove this person as the father.
I've also tried detaching the child from the parents and then editing the mother to attach a child but it also adds the mother's husband as the father.
Every child must have both parents (exclude when is it edge entity in past). So, you must create to wife a second partner (with confirming FTB warning), and in next step change whole parents pair by child. As result, mother stays the same, but father is changed.
Data range for FTB error checking is possible to change in FTB options setup. Try tune it here.
I downloaded V7 and found SuperSearch was not working correctly. So I shut everything down and reloaded V7 but my problem remained. When I use SuperSearch and I have a successful "hit" - birth, death etc in UK records I am unable to open the result/hit and receive the message "Oops an error has occured retry, try again later etc." I have tried numerous times without success. I did not have the problem with the old version. Can someone please help?
I got told in a private email 2 days ago that they had trouble with the UK records and they are looking into it still waiting look at my FAQ forum resent messages about the oops problem. No we are not the only 2 having trouble I have had many other people contact me with the same problem.
I am having the same Oops, an error occurred message the same way you described and only after downloading v7 which I lost half of my photos and lots of other issues so I went back to using online only and got rid of v7 but still having the Oops, an error occurred in the uk supersearches
It's also possible to win a big lottery. The odds are probably about the same.
It's highly unlikely that anyone at MH will actually come back and say, "Hey, we've fixed that in build 0.7115. Go to [URL] and download it to see the fix in action." You have a greater chance of winning big at a lottery.
