Unfortunately there isn't much we found out about the problem that you have described in the past. It seems to be related to a bigger problem with have with the family tree builder.
But we did make some performence internal fixes to the family tree builder, and there is a small chance that it may help you proceed with your family tree, you can try downloading the next version here:
I do not understand why it should be socomplicated to get FTB to work -I have had a long email correspondence with one of yoursupporters Daniel- initially the problem was solved but the next time I got mail about smart matches the problem was still there- i tis there fore no toptimal. So now I'mback to the start-it does not Work I can not confirm or deny smart matches.I do not know what touse it for now.
For the web site it is not possible to confirm or reject smart matches if you are a Basic User. I dont know if that is the same for FTB. At the moment the smart matches in FTB are only for personal use. That means, it is only you that know that you have confirmed or rejected a match. I think I read somewhere that that would change in future but for now...
If you decide to upgrade to Premium User be careful when you do it. So many people have selected the wrong one. They have selected the Data which will give them the access to archives but they will still be stuck with the limit of max 250 persons in the web tree and the limits in FTB.
Hi thanks forreply.Unfortunately,I give up nowto use the program or get the problem resolved.I've had this topic with your colleague, and I was toldthat since Ihad previously beena premium member, would smart matches also Work even if Iwent backto the base. And so it did - but only for one week then i am back to start. In addition,it isstraining to explain the same problem over and over again-I do not thinkit'sfunny. And it is cunfusing that i get to different answers.
Hi, I am not sure, but I think I read some notice from My Herritage about FTB application with info that former premium user who still use FTB for free after he/she finsihed their premium membership can use FTB application with all premium fincionalities until he install/ update new version of FTB - all premium functions get lost with the new installation.
Hi Otakar. Thanks for your reply. It was very useful information. I have previously been told that I could use the Basic version with all previous functions until I uninstalled. But if it is true as you say then I have lost these features because I was so stupid to update the program. It would benice to have that information earlier. Also the supporters could have told me.
Hello.Well of course I have updated as recommended- it was silly, I can see now because now I have lost the opportunity with smart matches. So I guess I just scrap the program.Too bad.Thank you for your help.Regards, Jens
I apologize if this is not the right place to ask this question, but I have a tree that I am not ready to publish for public viewing, but I would like to have the ability for a select few (in my own family) to take a look at as my work progresses. Is there any way I can publish a tree to the website and have it be completely private (but viewable by myself, at least, if I'm not able to have it viewable by say only people with a link.)
When I receive an e-mail saying someone has posted a new version of my family tree I want to be able to search that new version for only the recent additions or changes that cause it to be listed as a new version. I cannot figure out how to do so.
I don't use V7 but an easy way to find the changes sounds like a good idea to me.
I suggest that you send your suggestion to email@example.com and put in the title "Feature Request: Make it easy to find recent changes". In the body of the email, paste your forum post, maybe with a little more detail.
