I'm using the FTB which is great, I'm loving such a great program for free. But my mom is using it as well and since we essentially have the same family tree, it means anything she publishes to the website comes up as a smartmatch for me. I have sent her my gedcom so our trees are the same - she hasn't published it yet but she will eventually. In the mean time, she's only published 10 people in her tree (from before I sent her my gedcom). And all 10 come up on my smartmatches. I fear when she publishes our full family tree, literally every single person in my tree will come up with a smartmatch - and the same for her.
Is there anyway we can block one another for smartmatches?
My tree is getting quite large and I'm trying to export one specific family into its own gedcom file. I go to File -> Export Gedcom, select the "Include only selected people" option, and select the oldest ancestor in the line I'm interested in. The progress gets to 1% and then fails with a Windows runtime error.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing the software with no luck. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
When I create an "All-in-One" chart, in the FTB program, I can't prevent the boxes from going over page boundaries regardless of settings in options. Any clues, anyone? I recently took out a premium subscription to Family Tree Builder Ver 3.
I recently had to replace my computer due to a lightning strike. I have downloaded the software again and was able to load my tree to my computer from a backup. Now, My Heritage system seems to view it as a brand new tree and will only allow me to publish as a new tree (when in fact it is the same tree) but with only 53 of the 447 people in it.
Have a very detailed family tree for my wife's family, going many, many generations in Chinese. Any chance I can use FTB to at least store the Chinese charecters for the name as an alternate somewhere? Notes, secondary name, etc?
Could store it as a picture, but I could do that with the family tree software I already have.
I wanted to change from Family Tree Maker to MyHeritage FTB but there's a problem importing the GEDCOM file from FTM to FTB, the fields mail and email address got empty onced imported. I think FTB doesn't recognize those fields. I don't know what to do. Thank you.
I upgraded to the latest FTB V3 a few days ago. In general, it's working fine. The new fetures are cool. Well done.
I'm a little disapointed that you didn't enable yet some kind of merge option between the FTB tree and the Family Pages tree.
Anyway, every time that I launch the application, I'm getting a message that suggest me to upgrade to V3. But I already run it... The UI and functionaliy are certainly V3. However, when I selectHelp-->about FTB, I'm getting the old V2 version screen (attached screen capture)
When I click on "publish" the status bars show 2 different targets: Caudell (Website) and Steve Caudell (Website). When I check the Manage Trees area, only Caudell shows up. However, both sites/targets can be accessed with different statistics. Frankly it is confusing my relatives and friends that do not know which one they are "joining".

I had to pick one and delete it. I hope that helps!

When I publish from Myheritage program I only get 54 photos in Family Tree Photos. It flash (75) for a few seconds and change to 54. I have a total of 75 Photos. I updated to the latest version and I upgraded to the Premium Plan. Any Ideas?
It is terrible I delete my family tree in my computer so how I can export my family in myheritage.fr to my computer ? because it has loading just until 30 July so it miss me 100 personnes at today. Thank you in advance for response.

- Is there a way to change the font of FTB to Unicode font? I try to enter people's name in Vietnamese which uses Unicode. It's so limited to use just one font in English.
- In FTB can you change the order of name to last first in Book Report? I can change in the display setting and other reports, but is set to first last in the book report and there is no option for setting.
I am trying to add the illegitimate child of a male ancestor. I know the mother, so tried to add a relationship between them that was "partner". But in a book report, this shows as them being married. I tried the relationship as "other" as well, with the same result. Is there any way to add this illicit relationship without it showing asa marriage?
I am running into the same problem. On the family listings it also names them as "spouses" which is far from correct. It even changed last names, refering to the woman's last name as maidenname. Any suggestions?

I have a very simular problem after adding another family websit who had maybe 5 or so names on my wife's side of the family. It now says I have over 9300 names and I have to upgrade. Just got started on the 29th... This is not what I expected ...help
My wife's family names are entered in Cyrillic, which seems to work well. However, when I want to print the family tree, all these Cyrllic names are 'unknown'. How can I get these names in Cyrillic to print properly?
I started getting a Microsoft Visual C Runtime Error when I tried to start Family Tree Builder. After trying several fixes for runtime errors that I found online I eventually reinstalled Family Tree Builder. Now when I try to open my family tree from the .ZED file I receive an a message saying "Internal Application Error". I can open my partner's without a problem, just not mine.
Stupidly I haven't backed up my tree for several months now so if I tried it from a Backup I would lose a lot of work.
I'm using version 2.0.0.676 and my operating system is Microsoft XP.
I have the downloaded Family Tree version and I have an online page with you that I publish to. On the downloaded version when I click on Matches then click UPDATE NOW...it acts like it is updateing then it says...New Smart Matches are currently being processed by myheritage.com. Please visit this page again. The problem is that it has said this for MONTHS! The last update I have is May 2008. The weird thig about this is...every few days I get an email that says NEW Smart Matches found for "Family name". But when I go and look, I get the message that it is being processed, blah, blah, blah...what can I do to fix this? It is unusable to me the way it stands...
I've now downloaded the Family Tree Builder and copied the family tree into it. It allows you to print the tree off on more than one page and was relatively straightforward.

In online family sites, we have a new format for printing out family trees. I apologize if for the inconvenience if your chart comes out very small.
You can try bringing your chart in on removable media to a printing store and have them print out your tree on a larger size piece of paper.
In order to save a chart made in Family Tree Builder as either a .pdf file or as a .jpeg file:
Create the chart of your choice. Then when the chart comes up, click on the 'save' button which saves your chart to file. You will then have the choice of which type fo file to save it as.

If your tree is very large, your file may have problems being created. Best Regards,
