We have a memory leak problem with Smart Research. We have already fixed this bug in the upcoming version of the program, which will be released soon.
In the meanwhile, you can try to use a workaround:
Please close FTB, find your main.cfg file, which is found in Programfiles\Myheritage\Cfg\main.cfg
(If you use Vista or Windows 7, in which case it will be here: C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\MyHeritage\Cfg)
Edit the file with note pad, and edit this line:
change it from 5 to 1.
Save the file, and re-open FTB.
If that doesn't help, you can change the parameter to 0, which will disable Smart Research completely.
Hi... I am also suffering with the same "out of memory" problem. Went thru my computer tech guys and they tried to change some settings to help me out but nothing worked. I just have to have the program turned on and it says out of memory. very very frustrating. Am trying to finish one segment of the family for their family reunion next week and I don't think I will be able to do it for them. What can I do?
I am also experiencing the same out of memory issue, having got to this stage on the first day of use, No I did not import this was a new project started. I seems rather silly to have memmory leakage to this extreme. I have 4GB of memory!
I just started using Family Tree Publisher about 3 weeks ago and have already encountered major problems with the program. I have followed the instructions regarding limiting the maximum concurrent Smart Research questions to 0 in my main.cfg file. Changing this does NOT disable the Smart Research function. Even after an upgrade to 2 GB, my laptop is brought to its knees once Smart Research starts running. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can only enter data for about 15 minutes before trouble starts. :(
