Whenever I do the smart research, I get this error over and over. It does not stop searching, but I can walk away for 15 minutes and I will have 15 or 20 error boxes on my desktop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I am hoping someone will have an answer. Thank you in advance.
What version of Windows are you running Family Tree Builder on? I'm on Vista Ultimate 64bit and I tried the research area and also had it pop up with a c error. Does it occur once per person being researched?
I am running Windows XP Pro with SP3. It does it about every 60 seconds. I haven't noticed that it does it with each person, but will watch more closely. It didn't do it at first and I don't understand what made it start, but it's really frustrating.
What version of Internet Explorer do you have? If it's IE8, and if you have automatic updates turned on it most likely will be, that might be the problem. Or should I say, Family Tree Builder has a mistake in the code that IE8 no longer allows to run.
I'll send the error onto the development team and fingers crossed that it gets fixed this year (they don't seem to update the software very often).
Shutting down the automatic updates didn't do anything for me either. I am really frustrated at this point. If anything, the errors get worse and more frequent. I don't know what else to try.
I get the runtime error when loading photo thumbnails and it shuts down the program. I've reinstalled, uninstalled, taken off Google Chrome and Safari browsers. Tried to update IE8 - thinking of rolling back on that. Tried to update Visual C .....
... none of that works
Have tried changing the updates setting but not turning it off all together .. that's my next stop

I've got the same problem again and can't find the email you sent me (think it got downloaded from my yahoo mails to an outlook program on a previous pc. Please could you email me with the solution again. I know I have to look for specific photo files that are causing the error but I can't find where the system is saving them in order to scroll through and delete the one(s) causing the problem.
