I also am having problems with the all in one and also the book tryed various ways to do this but nothing seems to work, also it does not show foster parents even when I check the foster parents box, tryed to do this on tree builder but when I save it I loose all info below the picture
Yes, the chart is being created in FTB. The chart itself creates perfectly with no problems and I can move around the chart OK. The problems arise when I try to apply any Styles, Options or try to save it. The screens that should display at the point of hitting those buttons seem to go peculiar at this stage which leads me to think it is a memory problem possibly. If you would like me to send you the data I can so you can try for yourself, or I am happy for you to do a 'GoToMeeting' type remote session to show you what happens.
Sending you the Chart will not be possible as saving it from the Chart Menu is one of the problems I have. If I can send you the complete file you should be able to recreate the problem, however it is a 152MB zipped based on the output from the Backup Option on the menu. Please tell me the best way to get you the file. Also I am running XP Pro with SP3 installed.
I have used other forms of charts using FTB, but till date havent seen this All-in-one chart. Could any one explain how to generate one. It would be great if any one could share their sample chart through my mail id email@example.com
The All-in-One chart was a new one introduced a while ago now but if you have the latest version of FTB it should be there. You will find it under the Chart icon or the Chart menu option at the top of the screen. The version software I have loaded is 18.104.22.1686. If your software is earlier than 4.0 I would suggest you upgrade it to the latest available. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the info. The version I am using is 22.214.171.1243. Could you please let me know where can I find the latest version. i.e. 916. I was also told that version 5.0 was planned for last month. I am not sure when it would be available for download.
I could find the All-in-one chart option. But I feel I need to upgrade to premium version to have this feature.
I'm trying to export part of a family tree and want to retain all people on that side. I selected some key family members and their spouses and then I edited the export so that all ancestors, descendents, and spouses were included. When I opened the exported gedcom in FTB, the ancestors of the female spouse were not included. Next I tried to import just selected individuals into a project, but it seems that FTB doesn't allow this.
So my questions are:
1) How can I set the export to make sure all ancestors of the selected people are included?
2) How can I import a gedcom INTO another family tree and thereby add people to the tree without typing the info all over again?
When exporting only certain branches of your family tree from Family Tree Builder, you only have the option to choose people to export and then you can select that person, and select 'edit' and choose any of the following:
2) include descendants- this is really Include ancestors. It is a bug that we are aware of, and are working on fixing it. You can choose it.
The problem was this: I exported the eight people who were my great-grandparents and edited them to include ancestors, descendents, and spouses. However, the *ancestors* of the four women did not get exported. Everything else did. That's what I'd like to fix.
About 6 months ago I changed my email address to a dedicated address for genealogy queries. When I load FTB it shows my other email address as the registration and not the dedicated address. Can my registration be changed to the dedicated address, as Smart matches is saying "There is no such member on MyHeritage.com. Make sure you typed your email address correctly"
If you require the new details, can I send them to you via email, as at the moment, I would prefer not to have my email addresses show in the forum
When I receive calendar alerts, they are coming to the dedicated address, so there must have been a change made somewhere!
Open up Family Tree Builder on your computer. Go to 'Publishing' on your toolbar, and from there to Publishing Settings > Advanced Settings. There you will see the option to login using your new email address and password.
I have done as you said. However I don't want to publish my site as I have my own web site.
I opened the "Advanced Publishing settings"
Login parameters - Use my current My Heritage .com account (firstname.lastname@example.org) This is the account I want to change.
Use this account - I can't seem to click on this radio button.
In other words NO LUCK!
All I want to do is change the MyHertiage.com account name!!!!!
Just to make things clear . As stated above, I DON'T WANT TO BE ABLE TO PUBLISH AS I HAVE MY OWN WEB SITE. I use FTB as my main Genealogy software program for my data, which is exported as GEDCOM to a generating program (GED-GEN).
