When I try to open my family tree in My Heritage homepage, it seems like the page is just spinning for a while. Then it comes up with a little box in the middle of the screen saying it can't upload because of problems with the pictures with a little red warning sign. And then nothing more is happening, it all stops there.
I have never seen this message before so I don't know why it comes up now.
I imported a GEDCOM file from another genealogy program to Family Tree Builder. In the file there's a lot of RESI tags. In the family web page in myHeritage I can see the information from the RESI tags in Contact info in the Profile for a person. I can however not figure ot how to see (or edit or add or delete) that type of information in Family Tree Builder. The data must be there somewhere since it's exported from FTB to the web page.
After some experimenting I found that when I open the Source usage window for a source I can see that the source is used in a "Residence fact" for a person (see attached picture). When I press the view button I'm transfered to the facts tab in the Edit Details dialog, but there's no Residence fact visible.
"Hey! Does anybody have a solution to the Following problem: I'm being asked to log on to MyHeritage at each page change. After seventeen logins in 30 minutes, I'll have've become quite tired of this issue. Grateful for the help Angela Brooks "
I have been trying to build my family tree, and have a connection that is deceased and their sibling married their widowed wife. I have the marriage as it should; however, how do I show the sibling connection?
Also, the options under the Link to Existing they have one to link to parent, partner, or child. However, I believe it would be helpful to have a link to sibling. Would that be a possible addition to the software?
I've been doing some work of my genealogy tree, then the program crashed. When I reopened it, and tried to load the project, I got the message that lets you load a backed up version of the same project, as usual, since I couldn't save it. When I selected "Yes" I get an error message:
"The genealogy project could not be loaded due to an error. Click 'Back' to load another Genealogy Project, or click 'Finish' to exit the wizard."
So now I'm stuck, I don't know how to recover the backed up version!
As I think, You are working with the FTB. There are auto backup versions of Your project(s), but if You use the sync with Your online family tree(s), it could be a little bit tricky to restore a backup up version and then sync. It could produce a data salad between Your FTB project and the online tree.
So, it is better to contact the support. I'm sure, they will help You.
Because now it's before the weekend, be patient to get an answer.
My genealogy project that I've been building since 2009 is all of a sudden corrupt: each individual's information is correct but they are linked incorrectly, e.g. I am married to my brother and our children are our great-grandfather and great-grandmother just to mention an example.
The issue may be somehow related to another genealogy project because people from that project have appeared in the project I've been building since 2009.
As you can imagine this is a catastrophy for me and I really hope there is an easy fix (or even difficult one as long as the fix is not that I need to start building the whole project over again).
I compared gedcom file from online tree and from FTB : names and some changes are not synced btween both environment ; for example, on FTB, I have got the name in the gedcom file while on the online site, the NAME tag is empty (it is "//")
How do I add a second name to a person so both names will be shown in the quicksearch column ?
For Example. A person is named John Tan aka Steven Tan
I have entered John as the first name and then added Steven as second name. However only John is shown in the LHS quick search column and only John is allocated a unique ID. Is it possible to have both John and Steven with same unique ID so that both names appear in the quick search column ?
