Here is my situation, I have three daughters each of them have different mothers, when I add the parents to each daughter, for some reason when I check my self I'm added as a sibling to myself three times. Why is that and if I try to delete the entries it deletes the father from my daughters.. anyone know why this happens?
I ran into a similar problem (although a little more unusual). There seem to be some relationships the myHeritage programmers could not handle, in my case a father and daughter unknowingly marrying each other and having offspring. I finally did not use the attach feature, recorded Daddy twice and made a note of it. Although that should not be a problem in your case. Have you tried recording for yourself 3 wives/partners whatever and a daughter with each one?
Yes that's what I ended up doing, however, it still puts me in my list of siblings...three times, so instead of my parents having 4 kids they now have 7... maybr I should just list them as my kids and not have the mother listed, and maybe just add the mothers in a note....this is totally confusing.
I have never had problem with entering a father with multiple marriges/partherships. To enter your daughters you have to start with your self and then add each of your partners to you. Then add each daughter to each "marrige". If this is what you have done then I would report it as an error.
I think I did it a little different, I started with me and theb added my daughters, because of the blood line and later added their mothers. I delete them and try it your way and then let you know. thanks for the advice
You dont have to delete the daughters. If you have started with you and added your daughters so you became a single father and then added the first wife/partner she is now mother to all three. if you then add a second wife/partner you can then go in to the daughter of that marrage/partnership and then Edit, Parents, Replace and then select You and the correct mother as new parents.
I want to add a fact for an entire family. I want to add a "Cencus" fact. But this family has 14 children and I hope I don't have to add a fact for each person, which I have done until now. Anyone know if this is possible?
Hi Silje, What you want to do is add a 'Facts' 'Type' in the same area where the birth and death facts are. It is a census fact associated with each person. You have to go to facts, then at the bottom left corner: add your new fact as a custom type eg: 'Census ....', then click OK. You then need to add the details for 'place' and 'description'. MyHertiage should 'hold' those details after you click OK. So it's just a matter of going to the next individual and and clicking the 'New Fact', then click the drop down bar and choose the same 'Census....' and it will self load, and when you start to type the first few letters for 'Place' and 'Description' they will appear and auto fill in. This makes it a little quicker. What MyHeritage needs: is a generic self loader in the left column of the numbered facts bar in the 'Facts' page, and once a fact is loaded you should be able to just load it for each individual when filling in the other details.

YES! YES! YES! MY HERITAGE TEAM -- LISTEN AND DO THIS.
I know I'm "yelling". I'm trying to get their attention, because personally I don't think they pay much attention to user suggestions.
Family Tree Builder Version 6.0.0 Build 5634, does not allow you to back up directly to disk. But you have to do it indirectly to disk.
File>Back up Project>'This wizard will guide you through the process of backing up your entire project. You can either back up the project to disk...'.> . Back up to file on the disk>Describe this backup (optional) [Type the project title in the allocated space]>[Press] Select>[Save your project to your USB stick (E:), because it will not save it directly from Family Tree Builder to D drive: Error: 'You can't save here. Please choose another location'>[Then burn it onto your disk. Drag and drop directly from the USB stick into your data durning software programme. You may want to add an ascending numeral at the end of your project name on each back up for various reasons, or keep the same project name.]
( ) for Family Tree Builder wording
[ ] for my wording.
Always back up projects with documents and pictures/photographs inclusive.
I'm not sure where you are coming from, but there should be NO problem backing up to disk. I do it all the time! I have an external HDD where all the projects are stored (NOT IN C:/MyHeritage.......etc, I REFUSE to use the default, but that's another request, which, I believe is going to be fixed in Vers 7????) The HDD is my G:/ drive and I backup to a memory stick (H:/ drive). Its simple! In FTB goto File -->Back up Project --> Back up to file on the disk --> Next --> Select --> Save in. then click on the dropdown arrow then pick a disk to back up to. In my case the main drive is G:/ and the back up drive is Imation USB (H:), then save the file listed in File name at the bottom of the "Select file for Back up" window. It will show the name of the file e.g. in my case BELL2011 - 2013-04-18 15-08-38, (where the 2013-04-18 is the current date - YYYY-MM-DAY & 15-08-38 is the current time - HH-MIN-SEC).
