I have just checked my version of FTB and it says Version 126.96.36.1993. When I goto tools --> check for updates, it says that my current version is fully up-to-date. Why is it saying this if there is version 1198 available?
If one individual has children from two partners, here is what you should do: Add the previous partner and the current partner to the individual. Then add the children to the correct parents. The children from the previous relationship will appear as half siblings of those from the current relationship of the individual.
This is now the second time that I experienced that the computer freezes when I want to open a certain tree. A few weeks ago I started a new tree, but left it empty. The software always froze the entire computer. Yesterday I started a new tree, but I was not even given a chance to add a person. The software (current FTB version on Windows 7) works fine with other trees, but it seems to have trouble handling empty trees. Is this issue known and is there a fix for it?
I'm using the software Family Tree Builder 188.8.131.528 and I know how to set the marriage status to divorced. But I can't find anywhere to enter a divorce date. I searched the help online, but it refers to editing on the website. But from what I can understand it's not possible to edit on the website when using the software. If I go to facts and press New Fact, there are no "Divorce" to choose in the list.
So, could someone tell me how to enter a divorce date in the software?
Firstly, since you started your tree in the software, Family Tree Builder, and published your tree to your family site, this means that your tree on your family site is now read only. You have to edit your tree in Family Tree Builder, and then republish the tree to your family site.
Regarding adding the date for a divorce fact in Family Tree Builder, here is how to do it: double click on the relationship box that is under the husband and wife's boxes. There you should see facts. Add the divorce fact and date there. Save your tree and publish it to your site.
