I have two trees in my web site. I set one of as the default tree. After logging out and in again, the other tree is the default tree. I set the first one again, log out and in, and it is switched again etc etc etc etc etc etc
This is annoying and stupid. If there is a tool to set a default tree, it should keep that tree as default.
Are both your trees build using FTB (Family Tree Builder) or they using importations of GEDCOM files?
If using FTB, are you using the Sync (Synchronization) function between setting the default trees, or is FTB running in the background, if so kill FTB, set the default, then restart your computer. This should help the "fix" the default tree.
Thank you for the suggestion, but it did not help. The only thing from MyHeritage running in the background was FTB check for updates, which I killed and set the default tree. After restarting the computer and logging in to my web site, the tree was no longer my default tree.
Another thought, set the default tree online, then using FTB sync you computer based tree with the online version, therefore the background sync progam ("FTB check for updates") will not revert to the other tree
Any honest person applying for LDS MH accout needs to be give n the MH/FS Agreement for review, or must be unwilling to bind themselves to it, as required in the current MH Terms of Linking. We will not be blindly bound by it, and will recommend widely by every means available that all members of the Church of Jesus Christ should likewise withdraw from MyHeritage until the demand for compliance with a secret document is removed from the MH Terms of Linking, or that all applicable terms of the document are made available for review by members affected by it .
Frankly, we have given the matter some thought, and cannot conceive of any morally defensible reason for MH to make such a demand, We feel shocked and threatened by this lack of transparency.
We look forward to an amicable resolution of this impasse, and continuing success of your enterprise.
The additional people that you are not able to see at the moment are contained within branches. The branches are represented by smaller blue and pink boxes that appear above a persons profile card and you will need to click on this to reveal the additional people.
I have two releatives who were married and when their respective spouses died they married each other. How can I show on the tree that they were married and then remarried without having them as two separate legs?
I've had a similar situation, where first cousins married. Just go to the female's box, left click, click on spouses, and attach her to the male. In this way, they also retain their first spouses and they do not show up as double entries in your tree. Please note that only the first spouse will show on tree unless you left click, go to spouses, and click on the second spouse's name. Hope this helps. Happy hunting!
I must be doing something wrong. When I click on add a spouse it creates a second entry for the husband. So I'm not sure how to attach the second spouse to the female without creating a second entry for the person.
Thank you for the upgrade to the online software. This interface has many of the things I have been hoping for. It is a great improvement.
I like the slide out panel with easy access to a persons details (I missed this when I lost the classic view).
I like the fact that I don't have to go into full profile mode to see and edit a persons informaiton.
I like the new photo adding interface. However, I do wish that photos could be uploaded to a folder of my choosing when I am adding photos. I would also like to have more control over which photos I share. i.e. I'd like to put photos in my own folders and then decide which folders I share.
The new interface will save a lot of time editing and reviewing, so thank you very much for your efforts.
Hi folks, i see in my website that on top of the page of the family tree there is a notification saying 181 of 228 people. I have counted the names of familymembers that i have added and that are indeed and only 181 people.
So i wonder where u get those 228. In my family tree builder on my laptop i see that until now i have added 224 people. Is that 228 the result of a previous sync between the website and the FTB perhaps??
I have a similar problem: In my family tree which I work on, I have 133 people, but when I access the tree via the family website, it only shows 87. I have carefully saved and synced each update, so why aren't they appearing on the Family website tree?
I have three Swedish cousins related through my GGGMother. The first two sent my the connections. The third just sent me 32 pages of well referenced material, with a lot of US potential relatives. The problem is that I am running into conflicts with the Swedish names. If you have ever done Swedish work you'll know what I mean. I am running into many confusing people who are cousins to each other.
I want to start a new tree using the 32 pages, starting in 1781.
How do I start with someone other than myself and keep the first tree that I am now using. In other words, I want to have two trees. I want to start in 1781 and work down to and beyond me.
