I invited a # of people to the site (davidowitz.myheritage.com) . They never recieved invitations. When they try to register manually, they say that the e-mail address is already taken. The site then asks if they want to be e-mailed their password. If they say yes, t they never recieve an e-mail with the updated password....
We work very hard to make sure that invitation emails get to their proper destinations, but as we are dependent on email providers to get those mails through, we cannot avoid the fact that it sometimes happens that an email doesn't reach the recipient.
There are a few things that your site members can do in order to help us increase the chances their invitations will reach them:
1. Check spam/junk mail folders. In many cases, the email is simply filtered there.
2. Check spam/junk mail options. Add MyHeritage.com as an accepted sender.
3. Use an email address at gmail rather than at hotmail or AOL who are notorious for blocking good emails.
If one of your invitees tried Forgot Your Password and didn't receive the password, please have him or her check #1 and 2 above. After doing this, if the password still doesn't reach its destination, ask them to write to me at jaiel@myheritage.com with the word DAVIDOWITZ in the subject line.
When I try to publish the site (davidowitz.myheritage.com) with updated data from FTB, it gets to 10% and says that the site is in the middle of being published - this has been going on for quite some time. As a result I can't update the site. I have tried deletting the publishing request and recreating (as suggested under a different post) - this did not help either.
I updated the settings on for the Calendar to include Death anniversaries - now I have no calendar entries that were imported from the geneology information. Can you please help? I have tried resetting to the default Calendar settings on the site (davidowitz.myheritage.com) and this did not help....
I just downloaded this program and it shut down on me in the middle of editing. the message I received was in red stating it was a Runtime error. Everytime I try to open the program it does the same thing of shutting down.
I have tried searching the message boards for anyone else having this problem and came up empty. Can someone suggest some help?
Can you tell me what operating system your computer is running?
If you are a Vista user, try logging in as the Administrator and then reinstalling the program.
Does it make a difference?
If not, let me know. We'll investigate further.
After installing Vista Home Premium, I am getting the runtime error when I try to assign a photograph to a person. Vista says it cannot find a fix and closes the program. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the program and running it as administrator with the same results. The EXE file is not in the programs directory either.
Has anyone had any success fixing this problem?
I solved my problem. It seemed I had a corrupt photograph. I deleted the person associatedwith the photograph and then added him back. I no long got th runtime error.
Actually I had to reinstall the new version yesterday. It seems to be working fine for now. Apparently the old version was not Vista compatible. I had not had a chance to come on here to update the situation until now.

If you click on the PHOTO Icon at the top of your FAMILY TREE PROGRAM all of your photos will show up and to your right there should be a list of all people in your tree. If not click on the little > Right beneath the Word PHOTOS at the top left. In the right hand pannell find the photo you want and then in the left hand pannell find the person you want to associate with the photo. LEFT CLICK on that person's name and keep the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON down then drag the MOUSE to the photo and let go of the mouse button and that person should be associated with that photo.

Once I've uploaded a photo that has more than one person to it, how do I associate the photo with the other people in the photo?
I am new to the site, so I might just be doing something wrong. But I can't access my web site. I upgraded to the gold, and not only can I not upload pictures, but whenever I try entering my webpage it says "done" but the page is totally white. Please help, as I did pay for this!

Now, the page -" family tree - main"- is missing information. My member gets boxes on this page that allows her to make changes etc. I get nothing. Other then the four headings (front pg, family tree, activities, Albums. Also 7 other sub-headings. The rest of the page is blank. None of the above headings allow me to make changes or add new names.

In the top right corner of your MYHERITAGE SITE page click on the words MY SITES to see if you have more than one site uploaded you may be on the wrong site this happened to me before as I had uploaded the same project under two different names by mistake

Hi the other day my computer crashed and I lost almost everything. But I remebered that I had part of my family tree on My Heritage. Great right? No because I cant remember my password for my account. Then I couldnt figure out why Im not getting the email with my new password.Its because there is a extra "y"in my server address so I cant get the mail cant get signed in to fix or update my page

Yeah, I'm finding duplicate names also. Can't understand how that happened, unless the site is showing names from "ALL" trees.. I don't to stuff around deleting incase it deletes root names.
Is there a way to delete names from my tree that I seem to have entered multiple times?
If your tree was created directly online, then click on the person until you get his/her details on the left side of the screen where the person list is shown. Then click on Delete this Person.
If you created your tree in Family Tree Builder, then all changes should be made there and then republished to the site. To delete someone in FTB, click EDIT then Person > Delete Person.
