The inviations I send out in HTML format for my family page are going as picture attachments. Since they are going as picture attachments the links are not clickable. Can anyone tell me how to change this so that it'll go just as HTML mail & not an attachment?
I believe what is happening is that because of privacy settings for most email accounts (even Gmail) photos are automatically blocked. Your invitees have to allow the pictures to be shown.
A way around this issue is to use plain text invitations instead of HTML, they don't look as nice, but they might make it easier for people - my Grandmother for instance - who are less computer savvy and might get discouraged by the need to allow photo attachments when they open an email.
If I click the calendar link on my family page, it brings up a page where I can select the holidays to include on the calendar. If I make any changes to it, and even if I don't, it won't let me save anything. If I hit save, nothing happens. There are also the two radio buttons in the top right that say "simple" and "advanced". Clicking either of those doesn't do anything either.
I started my site on 01Jan07. I'm experiencing the same problems with my Calendar. I got it to save some other holidays like Ireland's and the UK's, but none of the events actually appear on the Calendar after it says it saves. I also can't add my own events to the Calendar.
Adding new events to the calendar is still in the works...
About adding holidays - can I ask you to try again? I just checked it and it works fine on my side.
One pointer: Under Holidays there are two categories 'Religious Holidays' and 'National Holidays'. Between the two you may add a total of five. If I tried to add Christian Holidays and Jewish Holidays plus five different countries, the system would not allow me.

It took me a while ti figure out Christian Holidays were considered part of the 5 but, yes, I finally got there. I have Christian (Catholic), Canada, Ireland, UK, and USA selected. It tells me my Calendar was successfully updated. When I go into the calendar, none of the holiday appear. All are blank, except for todays date, which is just highlighted. I've tried this on both Simple and Advanced.
I'm on the Family Trees page of my site and it says that I can download the .zed file for my family tree. When I click the download link, the status bar on my browser progresses and says done, but noting appears telling me to save the file. I have disabled my popups. What am I missing?
I am trying to figure out how to upload my family tree from offline to my family website. There is a link, but when I click on it, it says coming soon. Is there something else I need to do?
The ability to upload a family tree via Family Pages was indeed disabled up to a few days ago. We have enabled this feature now and you are welcome to visit your site again and upload one or more family trees.
To do the publishing, make sure you are using the latest version of Family Tree Builder.
On that program, go to 'Check for Updates' in the Tools menu and run the wizard to verify that you have the latest version (534). If not, the wizard will let you download the latest version and upgrade to it.
After you've upgraded, if that was necessary, click the 'Publish' button on the main toolbar of Family Tree Builder. That button was not available in older versions.
A wizard will pop up making it possible to create a family site. Skip that phase as you've already created your family site. Proceed to next page and add a publishing request.
In that request enter the address of your site next to the label .myheritage.com. Enter your email and password that you used to create your family site on Family Pages. Specify what to publish (e.g.entire family tree or just portions of it). Then click 'Publish' or 'Publish now' and watch the publishing take place.
I'm having an issue with the upload of my tree. I've created a very basic tree (just my immediate family), but it won't upload. It always gets to the same point and then just stops. I even tried to let it run while I went out for lunch... and when I came back, it was still in the same spot.
this looks like something I'd like to use for my extended family, but I can't get the tree to upload, I'd hate to pay for it....
We had some difficulites with server capacity during the launch of Family Pages, but have taken care of it. You shouldn't have any trouble uploading your photos now.
Please give it a try and let me know that everything worked out okay. :)
Twice now I've started and album, and selected that others can add to the album. Once the album is there, I don't see a way to add more photos to it other than the ones it was started with. I really don't like the photos, feature. It needs simplification. I appreciate all the options you're attempting to give us, but it's just to complicated.
I agree with this post. I can not find a way to add photos to an existing album .I can create a new album but not add photos to an existing one. Is there a way to do this. There definately should be.
Thanks for replying. I was beginning to fear I was the only one not figuring it out. I've tried a few more times and it definitely seems like it's meant to do what we want it to do. There's an option to allow others to add to the album.
