How come it says I have 50MB storage, I deleted all photos and only loaded up a tree which is less than a MB yet when I view the account status it says I am using 50MB!
I have checked my folder size and its nowhere near 50MB...I stress that I deleted all photos too
I'm a brazilian user and my english is basic. Sorry for this.
Immersive is great, but, why I can not show the actual espouse in front page?
In my tree all is correct and showing correctly, but in front page of the site it doesn't appear. I tried all options, including deleting the other family, but the actual espouse don´t appear.
Sorry, but I have same problem. I posted help message to this board 2 days ago, but MyHeritage apparently does not respond to postings. I noticed under my Administration Tab that Immersive Front Page does not have an icon like the other tools. Looks like the problem is on their end.
There are some limitations to the Immersive Family Tree that we are working to fix as we speak. There will also be updates in the near future which will give you many more capabilities in the Immersive Tree.
For the time being you can remedy this situation in Family Tree Builder. Go to the marriage you would like to see on the Immersive Tree and click on the EDIT button of the person who you want to change the spouse for.
Go to Manage Spouses and change the order of spouses in this window. The first spouse (listed as number one) is the primary spouse or main spouse. This is the one that will always be shown first.
After completing this step, please re-publish your tree. This should take care of the problem.
Hi, i am new on the site and i have uploaded my familiy tree and it looks great.
But when i click on each individual it doesn´t show the person´s details, it shows an error loading them.
What can it be?
I´m using Firefox if that helps
If my information is correct, one of the marriages in my family tree is between first cousins. Both of these people were already in my database when I discovered the connection. So, now, I'm trying to link one to the other by "dragging and dropping" one person into the other person's "Add Spouse" box. Each time I try this, Family Tree Builder crashes. It makes me wonder if the program has a prohibition against cousins marrying which, I could understand, but, it does leave me in a quandary on how to connect these two (assuming my information is accurate).
So, my simple question is, "How can you show 1st cousins as married to each other?" If I can't do that, does anyone have a suggestion as to how I should show this, er, relationship?
In order to "marry" two existing members of the family tree without creating duplicate entries, you will use the "Attach" feature.
This is a quite useful feature for spouses as well as handling children in Family Tree Builder.
The "Attach" feature can be found in the spouses menu (in this case) under "Edit" for the person you are looking to add a spouse to.
When you click on Attach, you will be able to choose a person from the list of individuals in your family tree. This feature will automatically bring the desired spouse and his or her family relations along with him/her without creating duplicate entries.
Go ahead and give it a try and let me know how it worked out for you.

Hi,
I have LOTS of these.
I have imported the details via Smart Matches (in Family Tree Builder) and in most cases they are shown as married, with the details of the spouse too.
First, how do I tell if the tree records their relationship with each other (apart from the marriage of course). And if they come in the smart match complete with spouse, and I suspect the relationship (cousins or whatever) is not recorded, should I break the connexion (using 'detach spouse? How?) and restore it as "Attach spouse" rather than "Add spouse".
Also, does the (cousin...) relationship get recorded if I add them to my tree (when using the merge function) using the 'already existing person' box rather than 'add xxxx as a new spouse...'
I have a very tangled tree, so this is very important to me.I want to see if as well as being a cousin to someone I am a second cousin once removed on the other side of the family. And the underlying relationship because her mother and two sisters married three brothers who were cousins; and the complications where in more than one generation many members of one family have married members of one or another unrelated family.
One of the main reasons I am a member of MyHeritage is to see all this more clearly.
If you merge Smart Matches it will take the data from the other person's tree and add it to the person you have in your tree.
Merging Smart Matches won't affect the relationship designations you created in the tree. So if you merge a husband and wife only the data from the merge will be included.
In the worst case scenario, if you merge a Smart Match plus spouse, you might get an extra spouse. In this case, just copy the information over into the correct spouse and delete the extra spouse that was created.
If the spouse you import in the match is a new entry in the tree, then you'll have to use the attach feature to attach the person correctly to his/her parents.
Hello again, not sure what is going on here, I think it must be a problem with the site itself, mine is all of a sudden working again, but now I am thinking...for how long this time? I have sent a message through the contact us part of the site and no one has replied, so I may just try to find another website ot post my family tree on, not sure I trust this one anymore, and it's a lot of hassle to my other members when they don't know why they can't see it. If you find out anything else please let me know, and I will do the same if they ever reply to my message, good luck
I currently have a family site with MyFamily.com. I've had it for 6 years, and it's very successful and active. MyFamily.com is beta-testing their 2.0 version. Since we're going to be having a major change by the end of the year anyway, I decided to beta-test this site as well, to see if we could get better service.
Well, the select few beta-testers I have on the site have lost interest in coming because nothing is happening. The photos aren't getting any easier to deal with, so no one wants to play with that. The calendar still isn't functional, so we can't play with that. We've already used the message boards as much as we're going to before making this our official site. Nobody's really interested in the photo-morphing thing, so we haven't tried that, but we do see from the message boards here that there are enough problems with that that we probably don't want to use it until that's all straightened out.
Personally, I'd love to move my family site from MyFamily.com to MyHeritage.com. I like what you have here, especially the Message Boards. That's more what I envisioned for my site from the start. Unfortunately, I can't keep my beta-testers interested, to get a feel for whether this would be a good move for the family as a whole. If I could tell them what you are working and give them a time line for the upcoming changes and upgrades, that might help. Is there somewhere I could direct them? If not, is that something you could please add somewhere? I'm sure my beta-testers and I aren't the only ones frustrated with the lack of progress here.
I've tried to invite several family members to join my site. My aunt says every time she clicks the link in the invitation email, it prompts a small download, and it looks like a snapshot of the site, but the join button is nonfunctional. I tried to recreate the problem by inviting myself via a different email address, but when i click the link, it tells me I am the admin. Does anyone know what's going on?
Is your aunt the only one having troubles with joining through the invitation you've sent her?
The first thing you can do is send her a plain text email. You'll need to go to her member profile on your family site (you'll see her listed as an invitee) and delete her invitation - don't re-invite her.
Then go ahead and create a new plain text invitation and send it to your aunt.
This should take care of the problem - will you let me know how things turned out?
Thanks for your response! I have resent using text only, so we shall see how it goes. I don't know if the rest of the family is having problems, none of thewm have let me know of any, but they're not registered yet either.
I was just wondering if there was any news as to when the problem with our photos uploading to the family tree photo album on our sites would be working. I'm still having that problem. They upload to the site, but not to the album. I also can not edit the album to even add them manually.
I'm sorry it's taking so long. We are trying to figure out what might be causing this error, but it is not proving easy to discover the source of the problem.
I appreciate your patience with us while we figure out what's going on. I will keep you updated as I get information from the tech team.
