Hi. I;'m new to MyHeritage but I;m finding that it;'s been a blessing in bringing our family together after years of being apart in different countries of the world.
After uploading newy input information from the software pacjk I;m finding that some of the info is doubled up on the web site. Is there a quick way to remedy this or do I edit out the details on the site?
Hi Jaiel, if I go into Family Tree\Manage Trees\Summary I have the option to View or Edit but not to delete. I uploaded a GEDCOM file with 190,000 users that I wanted to search for ancestors; now that I have extracted the info I need I want to delete it but I can't see this option.
I don't want to delete my family tree from the Heritage.com internet site but from my family heritage tree builder program I have on my computer. If I could delete the GEDCOM file from my computer program, I could reload an updated version back on it. Right now when I try to upload and updated version to my computer family tree program, it duplicates all the files.
In your program click on FILE in the top left corner and click on OPEN PROJECT click on the project you want to delete and if you look just below that you will see the word BROWSE click in the window beside it NOT ON THE WORD BROWSE and you can scroll back and forth with you arrow keys, you will notice each directory in seperated with a \ So if you write this info down you can click on START, then MY COMPUTER then C: (your hard drive) then DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS and so on following the info you just wrote down till you see the file you want to delete. When you see the file you want to delete it will end in .zed right click on it to delete then close all windows and restart you family tree program
Well, I made a lot of searches yesterday evening and cannot find the specific case out anymore... Sorry for this. But as soon as I get it, I'll pay attention to take note of the criteria I use.
By the way, searching is only performed on married name, not maiden, right?
Is there a way to enter first firstname only to filter the results and get lighter queries? Are there any wildcards to use?
I think it is searching on maiden name and not married name (thank God). Wish there were some more extensive search options. With about 2800 people in my database it would be nice to search for stuff like "give me all people that do not have a father or mother and are related to me" ....or "show all people with surname "SURNAME" but that are not related to this branch"
I am the web administrator of our site and I tried to invite some family members to join several days ago. Till now, none of them have received the invitation!
Appreciate your advice and/or assistance on how to correct this problem.
I tried to invite manually 7 family members (including one of my alternate IDs as a check) but none of the 7 have received the email invitation in spite of the success message I received as the administrator doing the inviting.
Not sure if the problem is with the individual email boxes since I have a 0% success rate in inviting members so far. Of the 7, 3 use yahoo.com, 1 uses gmail and the rest use commercial email domains.
I will repeat the member invitation process for the 7 (by removing them and inviting them again as you suggest) but this time I will invite them via my Outlook Express address book instead of inviting them manually.
Today i noticed the new option to generate a chart of your tree. I tried it but i never received any email (also after limiting the number of generations).
For a mistake I inserted two pictures in an individue. How can I delete one of these? If I go to "delete" after checked then a message appears "not avalaible". Why? Thanks
Deleting photos from your online family tree is going to be available very soon.
In the meantime, I can manually delete the photo for you here. Just let me know the name of your family tree, the name of the person where the photo is, and exactly which photo to delete.
I have two conflicting databases with the same name in the website and would like to wipe out everything and re-load from scratch. Can I do that? If not, can someone at My Heritage do that for me?
The web site is not updating following publishing from FTB on my computer. The system appears to send everything correctly, but there are no changes (even after a period of time) on the web site. I tried deleting the publishing info in FTB and then entering the info again and republishing, but to no avail. Any idea? Is MyHeritage.com having problems?
