If a family tree was created with Family Tree Builder, only you will be able to edit it in the Family Tree Builder program. You can publish the tree to your online family site, but it will be read-only there, which means that the family tree will be displayed in its full glory, but it cannot be edited online. We are currently developing the new system that will allow Family Tree Builder trees to be editable online as well, by you or by other family members that you designate.
I cannot find any way of adding a hyperlink into my offline My Heritage family tree. For example the notes are all plain text and do not allow for this. I simply want to do this to speed up my research for example a link to a census page in one of the various databases that I use. At present all I can do is paste in the hyperlink as text then I have to copy it and paste it into a browser - very messy. With hyperlinks I could quickly check references without having to go in and out of the family tree. The html editor I am using to write this would be ideal. for example to explain a particular occupation of one of my scottishancestors. I suspect I may be going about this the wrong way or have missed something - any help welcome.
I have created two sites and when I go to the homepage of the first site I dont have Calendar & Activities tabs next to family tree and photos. When I go to my 2nd site I see them there. Is there a option or setting that I am missing?

How do I put by great great grandfater and his brother both of whom married sisters in my family tree? I have no way to connect the same parents to each of the sisters once added as partners.
Unfortunately at this time there is no way to add complex relationships like two brothers marrying two sisters online.
The only option available is to add their information twice.
We do hope to have this feature in the very near future.
To do this in Family Tree Buidler, please see the post in our FAQ: http://www.myheritage.com/help/2008/11/how-do-i-show-one-person-in-two-locations-in-family-tree-builder/en/
I occasionally have trouble trying to edit the details of an individual. I'm in the tree view and scroll through the list of family members on the left side and then click info to see their details.
When this comes up, sometimes the "edit details" link is not there. I have to click on somebody else in the tree and then come back to this person in order to get the edit details link visible.
Any suggestions or is there a better place to report a bug?
If there are further branches of your tree that are unopened, you may need to open the rest of the tree (by pressing the leaf) that is connected to someone in order to edit that person’s profile. Notice here there is no edit option in this persons profile, but once the branch is opened, you will be able to edit their profile.
I have found two problems with FTB v2.0.0.676 and the MyHeritage website.
(1) I created a family tree using FTB and a corresponding website for my wife's family, the O'Neils. When I tried to publish the family tree, the upload hung at 99% saying that it was waiting for the website to process the data. Strangely, I was able to export a GEDCOM file from FTB and import it into her website, I just wasn't able to publish it from within FTB. After many attempts to fix the problem, I finally concluded that the apostrophe in O'Neil was the problem. So, I edited the GEDCOM file from FTB by doing a global replacement of ONeil for O'Neil, opened the revised GEDCOM in FTB and was then able to publish to the MyHeritage website. I then edited the FTB tree to replace the apostrophes and was able to publish the revisions. So, the bug appears to be in the processing of uploads from FTB.
(2) I have 2 family trees created with FTB, one for my family and one for my wife's family. In my website, the tree cannot be edited, which someone told me was normal for a tree uploaded from FTB. This seems sensible, since there does not appear to be any way to sync the website with changes made in FTB. However, my wife's website can be edited by members. I looked around and found that the SETTINGS/PRIVACY/ADDRESS BOOK page had a check box to allow or not allow changes by members. However, the box was grayed out and could not be changed. Furthermore, box had no check mark in it, so how could editing by members be allowed?
So, I was adding people to my family tree. My sister then contacted me and told me that something was wrong, a person was listed as having a different dad than his siblings so I tried to fix it. Everytime I try to I get this message.
A communication error has occured while saving the update.
Please click Retry to try again.
Every single time I try to update this person, to delete him and this un-named father, it won't work.
When publishing from FTB, not all photos are uploaded. My storage space is approx. only half used in the MH website. What gives? All photos are in FTB and all are tagged. Have saved and published twice with same results. Are there any limitations to file size of photos? Most of mine have been scanned at at fairly high resolution. Here is copy of error report:
Warning: 4 photos were not added to the site. The photos may be missing, have incompatible format or are corrupt.
Alternatively, the site may have reached maximum capacity. The 'charnowski' site is currently at the Basic plan. If this is the case, please upgrade the capacity of this site to a better plan, which can be done here. After upgrading, publish your family tree again.
