I need to show the marriage date in the ancestor chart along with birth date, etc. Selecting "Marriage" in the Options does not seem to do anything. What am I doing wrong? I'm using Family Tree Builder.
i tried to make a report on the site and all the women had icorrect surnames after marriage - they had husband's surnames but not theirs. In other words women had surnames as if they were men not women

Причина отображения фамилий после замужества у женщин в мужском роде в том, что в дереве на сайте в данный момент нет возможности добавления/отображения фамилий после замужества для женщин. В дереве указывается только девичья фамилия, а на всех остальных страницах (кроме дерева) фамилия после замужества отображается в мужском роде потому, что фактически берется фамилия мужа, то есть, отображается фамилия семьи. В других языках этой проблемы нет, поскольку у них нет окончаний женского рода для фамилий, как в русском. В данном случае, Вы можете отменить отображение фамилий по мужу для женщин, оставив только девичьи фамилии. Для этого нужно войти во вкладку Параметры/Генеалогия/Форматы. Здесь есть опции отображения фамилий замужних женщин.

Присоединяюсь к вопросу Надежды: будет ли в будущем добавлена возможность редактировать фамилии замужних женщин? В Family Tree Builder такая возможность есть: в итоге загружаемое дерево выглядить корректно, а редактируемое на сайте - нет :(.
спасибо за ответ, мне действительно помог Ваш совет. Кроме россиянок, фамилии меняются еще и у литовок - среди участников моего сайта есть и родственники из Литвы. Очень надеюсь, что в будущем будет реализована функция корректного отображения фамилии. Или это не планируется вовсе?
Я разделяю Ваше внимание к данному вопросу и добавлю данную опцию для рассмотрения. Но сказать Вам заранее утвердительно, будет ли это реализовано, не могу, поскольку это будет зависеть, как в дальнейшем будет фукнционировать дерево и на чем именно будет сделан акцент.
Мы как раз в течение ближайших дней планируем добавить функцию, с помощью которой можно будет вводить фамили после замужества в нужной форме, и надеемся, что это поможет в разрешении проблемы отображения фамилий на сайте.
Many women choose to keep their former husband's last name after divorce, as did my mother-in-law. How can I get her designated as 'Sally Garry Frank' instead of just 'Sally Garry'? It messes up family pictures in which she was still my father-in-law's wife! Is there an option I am missing?
I am familiar with the two setting options and have tried them both on FTB and on-line. With both my mother-in-law still shows up as 'Sally Garry', NOT as either 'Sally Garry (Frank)' or 'Sally Frank (Garry)'. It is the same for the other divorced women in my family tree. There should be an option under the 'divorced' entry on FTB of 'keep married name'. My mother-in-law was married to my father-in-law for over twenty (20) years and legally chose to be known as 'Sally Garry Frank' in the divorce decree. So this is a legitimate and legal option in the USA. Is there perhaps an easy and efficient and effective work-around to do this?
I have uploaded and associated many photos in the FTB, but when i synchronize, those photos do not show up in the tree on my site. They photos DO show up in the online album and when I click on a person, that photos DOES show up on their information. I just cant get them to show up as the personal photos of people on the tree.
I am trying to export my project in My Heritage to a GEDCOM file, but cannot get ti to work. I click File and then Export Gedcom. I then click Save As. I cannot get this screen to work. When I click the down arrow on the Save In box, the drop down box is empty. I tried putting a full path filename into the Filename box, but then clicking Save doesn't work. Cancel doesn't work either. I had to x out of the Save window. I tried re-installing the .exe file. It said it successfully upgraded, but the export Gedcom still doesn't work. Has anyone else experienced this?
I have done that, Esther. Please see attachment. You will see that the dropdown box for teh Save in folder name is blank. How do I populate it with the folders available on my PC?
I lost many time to find the function to change parents (mother of father) of any children in the tree. The last post (~300 days ago), says that there no function to do this. Is it added now or not?
P.S: I talk about online Tee Builder (not offline)! And i know that this feature haves in offline client (click on someone and edit parents), but i need it in online version, because i do not use offline FTB.
I also had this problem - but in addition, I am afraid to export my tree to the Family Tree Builder and re-import because the last couple of times I exported the tree, all of the pictures and people were not exported - and when I'd re-import the tree, it wouldn't update the existing tree, it would add a new one...with no pictures. Is there no "update changes only" option?
As long as you want to keep editing your tree online, you will have to follow this procedure:
export to Family Tree Builder, import back to the Family Site, and tag the photos again to the new tree.
Your second option is to start building your tree in Family Tree Builder - then you can publish it to the site from time to time, and you will never have to bother with the export \ import again.
Keep in mind that when you publish your tree from Family Tree Builder, your site members will not be able to edit it online, they will only be able to add photos and documents, and to tag photos.
hey guys - any luck yet with changing someone's parents? My father-in-law's brothers and sisters are from two different fathers, but when I initially made the tree, I didn't know that, so I put them all under one father. I'd love to flip half of them over to the other father but don't know how to do so. The last time I used the offline editor, I lost pictures on my tree and it re-uploaded under a different tree...so I don't know if I want to try that again (unless the software's a little more intuitive now)...
