It's a week ago I can't reach my family site. And none of my family members.
You aren't answering my e-mails, I couldn't find out what to do. My site sends newletter to us, but we can't reach the site. Google tells that the DNS server is missing.
I tried to change browser, change computer, search on google for other myheritage sites, but all of them are missing except the twitter and the myheritage blog site. The family tree program can establish contact to the site, and it can upgrade the tree. For further information about the error please contact me on my mail: eldon@upcmail.hu
Site is: http://www.myheritage.hu/site-54139111/matecz-istvan-web-site
After a little bit of search I learned that the hungarian pages are the missing sites.
On a forum many other webmasters reported that their sites are missing too. One of them suggested that before someone repairs the error we should change the language to english or other. Most of them are working. It's not bad, but many of my relatives doesn't speak english or another language only hungarian. They can't use the site until the repairing. I hope you can solve the problem soon.
There appeared a notice at my startpage. One of my members should have added some changes to the facts of another. Looking there, I saw the email adress of the first member writte as living town of the second one. And at the right list at the start page the first member was listed with the birthday of the second one.
I asked him what he had changed. The answer was that he only sent a birthday greeting to the second member.
After uploading some changes, the effects written above were gone.
Hi, I have created my tree in FTB, the adoptive links work OK there, but when I have published the tree to the website, I can't find a way to let people view that adoptive relationship on-line... One can find the "alternative" family if one knows the relevant name, but one can't interactively browse between the blood and adoptive families. Can this be done? Is it a issue that is to be addressed, or is it a non-issue?
I invited my aunt to share my family tree, after she had helped me with some details, she has gone into it deleted all her details, her children, partners etc and emailed me an angry message about not wanting her details on the internet!! I am replied assuring her it is private, and changed the settings so now only I can edit it. Obviously I want to add all these deleted details back on but she is asking me not to.
I've run into similar problems in the past. As we know, basically anyone over the age of 30 is just now within the last 10 years getting used to the deprivitization of the internet. The one I heard a couple times from my mom (who doesn't use credit cards on the internet so that she can't have her identity stolen) is "everyone's banks and accounts always ask for your mother's maiden name when verifying you - if we put that information here, people will be able to assume our identities!"
There's no real way to sooth or sway this opinion. The best thing you can do is make sure your privacy settings do not allow outsiders to access your tree's details (and test it by logging out yourself and then searching for your tree to see what it'd look like for an internet surfer to find your tree), and then have your aunt do the same. In addition, let her know this isn't the worst place as far as private info. Most state and local offices here in the states will cough up personal info (sometimes even as bad as SSN and driver's license) just from a phone call.
Assure your aunt that she's damned if she does and she's damned if she doesn't...so she might as well join the site!
I have an ex partner with whom I had a daughter with on my tree. I am married to my current husband, but on the tree and on facts it says that my ex is my husband. We were never married, and I didn't select that we married when I created his file. I have searched for a way to change this but there is none. In the help there is mention of a "Manage Spouses" option - but I have yet to find where this is. I only am doing my tree online, not with the software. Please Help!
Have the same. Halfbrothers and sisters seem to dissapear from the tree cos they are not real decendents and my first husband has the name of my second even thought in the system he has his own name. Is it because he is not in 'line'. How to solve it? anybody know?
I just deleted my ex from my tree, now it looks as though my daughter has no father but better than being accused of him being my husband!!
Go to Edit on your link click spouse you then have Add / Attach / Detach / Manage. I've been married twice & am now with the third but have all 3 still in the tree without problems. Go to Manage Spouse here you can list which spouse is No1 and ensure how the other is linkedat the present i.e divorced etc
I currently have 104 names in my website. Statistics show 204...the problem seems to be the site got split into two main family groups. The duplication resulted in almost twice the people being counted. This only appears on line, not on my PC.
When I upload images, whatever album I choose to upload to, a copy of the image uploads as well to an album, which might well be the original album of the familly pages.
Most annoyingly, when I delete the photo from this album, it deletes as well from the album where I wanted it to be!
When you publish photos from Family Tree Builder, they go to the default Family Photos album. On the Family Site, you can them move them to other albums if you want.
If you changed the name of this default album, it will still function in the same way.
I would suggest that you change the name back, and create a new album with the second name, to prevent confusion.
We will soon add a feature that will let you organize your photos into albums in Family Tree Builder as well.
My personal theory: photos have one big common storage space, and individual albums are only "views" to defined sets of photos. This implies, every photo is viewable in her album AND in full view too.
Many of the features of MyHeritage are excellent, but I have two niggles with the reminders of birthdays:
1). The sums are sometimes wrong ! My daughter (Harmony) will be 45 today, but the message says she is 44.
2). We get reminders for my mother (Caroline), who would be 100 next week, but is listed, correctly as having died in 2007. Likewise for my Aunt who is also deceased.
Hi David,
Thank you for writing to us.
Regarding the second problem of events for deceased individuals, we have fixed this issue, and it should not happen again.
If the sums of any other upcoming events are incorrect, please let me know so that we can check it out, at noam@myheritage.com.
Thank you for reporting these issues,
Noam
I just received notification of the incoming birthday of a deceased person, with suggestion to send greeting or buy gift. So, obviously, this issue was not fixed.
