I've been trying to change the welcome message picture on my Greenberg-Messer-Fine site, but it won't change or even delete. It's currently deleted in Settings, Genealogy, Image for Welcome Message, but still shows on the login screen. What's going on?
(Don't suggest clearing my cache because my cache is set to 0 & I've also cleared it for good measure.)
We will delete the Welcome page photo for your site, but we have changed that page, and you will no longer be able to add a photo to that page. A default generic picture will replace it.
When I look at the places of birth, death & residence on the statistic charts, only a couple are shown. I've added many more in people's details - what do I need to do to make them show?
Firstly, we are sorry for not responding earlier. Please note that we provide priority support for our Premium and Premium Plus users, and still try and respond to all of our users as soon as possible.
Regarding the problem that you are having with the statistics; can you please give me a couple examples of people that you have added residence or place information for, and you cannot see their information updated in the statistics?
I also have the same problem. All the locations that I have entered show up on my map on FTB (births, deaths, residences).
But only some of these actually show up on the Family Site. I can't be sure, but I think everything I have entered for Birth Locations and Death Locations shows up on the family site. However, I know that not everything for Residence Location shows up on the site.
Currently on the family site the only countries that show up under the " Residence Map" are India, USA, Vatican, and Qatar. However, in FTB I have entered Canada, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and UAE as residences as well. They all show up on the map within FTB, but not on the family site.
Can you please tell me specific people that have residence information listed in the online tree, and yet it is not showing up in the places statistics?
I just read your responses below and now see that I misunderstood the "places of residence" map. I had thought that it was actually based on what I entered in the "Contact" section of FTB. Now I see it is based on what the site members put as their location.
Sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks for your help.
thanks for getting back to me. I think I may have resolved the issue of places of birth & death - the problem seems to be that several of my family were born in Eire and this is not showing up on the stats - Eire is notpart of the UK!
I still don't see where to add residence information however - none of the drop-down facts boxes seem suitable - yet when I click on info for my husband on the home page, for example, his place of residence is shown, incorrectly, as the UK (he lives in Spain) and I can't see anywhere to edit this information!
To change your residence, please log into your site and go to Home > Site Members. Next to your name, under 'more' you will see the option to edit your address.
Can you please tell me who in your tree has information listed as being from or living in Eire, so that I can look into this problem?
I have no problem with my place of residence - it's other family members that I wish to add so that their place of residence shows in the stats.
I now see that there is the option to add addresses on the site members page for some, but not all, of the members, and in the case of my husband I can find no way to edit his address so that it is shown correctly!
Also - I still don't see how to enter places of residence for family members that are not site members (I do not have email addresses for everyone).
Regarding the family members born in Eire, they include my parents John Smith and Mary (Maisie) Heaney, his three siblings, her nine siblings and my grandparents various others
Let me explain to you the way that the residence information works:
When you (the site manager) are logged into your own site, you can go to Home > Site Members and there you will see the option to enter an address (or edit it under 'more') for site members that have not yet ever visited your site. Next to your own name, under 'more', you will also be able to edit your own address.
You cannot edit the address of any of your site members that have already visited your site. They will have to edit their own address. They can do that by logging into their account, going to your site (that they are a member of) and going to Home > Site Members. Next to their own name, they will see the option under 'more'.
Regarding the second issue, we are looking into it.
thank you for both of your replies - I understand how that works now. Regarding family who are not site members - is there no way of adding their residence?
You can add a residence to someone in your family tree (that is not a member of your site) by adding a fact and choosing 'contact info' as the fact type.
First question. I originally created a family tree for one part of my wife's family, got that going but in the learning curve of things I ended up creating 3 sites that show up in my "My Sites" 2 of which I made not visbale to people and renamed them with delete in front to not get confused. I would like to remove these from my site list. Can you help?
Second question I decided to open a subscription and made a family tree for part of my side of the family and I had thought that it would allow me to have 2 seperate entry points for the different families. What I would like to do is to have 2 or more family trees and have diffenrent entry points so each family does not have to go through each others family to get to the side of the family they are a part of.(confusing?) It seems that the second family tree I created will have to enter through my wifes side of the family- (the family tree I entered 1st) and select a different family tree to see the one I created for them. It also seems that if I invite my side of the family and they want to upload pictures it will have to end up at the 1st site I created.
Sorry its hard to explain what is going on. Did I completely add the second family tree wrong or will I end up having to make some sort of generic family entry point for both families and have to tell them to enter their side by the drop down choice of family trees?

I have deleted her and readded her back and it still seems to come back and I can't find the place where it is that I can change it. Please help.

Can I have 2 seperate family sites on the same premium account, or do I have to pay for the premium account for both. Is this the same if I have 2 trees in the same site?
If I do have to combine them to not have to pay another fee how does this affect how the families upload or send pictures? and calenddars and other features. Will everyone be on everything together?
I have looked through some of the material and have not found any info to help on this.
Thanks
Hi John,
I have deleted the Family Sites you have requested.
You now have 2 Family Sites remaining.
You can manage two separate sites, with one tree in each,
and invite the relevant members to each site.
Alternatively, you can have 2 Family Trees in the same site,
but then both will be displayed in the tree page - and the member will have to choose which tree to view.
