My family tree is about 4000 peoples , from about 6 countries. My problem is this:
I'm from Czech republic, my 3rd cousin is from Germany, what happend if I invite him via HOME / INVITE FAMILY. There I find my 3rd cousin from Germany, I send him a invite message, but in which language it will be? That i dont know.
It will be in german or in czech? It is very important, if it will be in czech , he will be not understand it.
So maybe it is time to put some icon or plain text to select language of invite message.
I have the same problem. I've sent an invitation to a person in the USA but the invitation was in Finnish and he couldn't understand it. There's also a possibility to choose the language on the site, but it doens't work. Your idea of choosing the invitation language is good and after getting the invitation a person could go to the site and choose the site language.
How it actually works is that it will send the invitation in the language of your interface.
If the person you are inviting already has an account open at MyHeritage, the invitation will be sent in the language of the interface that person has chosen.
We are aware that it would be better to choose the language if how the invitation it will be sent and we already reported that to our developers.
We use several My Pages, as entrance to different family information, interviews, references, ect. For example page "Virtual Cemetry" is collection of pictures of tombstones with links to person's profile. Any Family Page is the collection of interviews, documents, events of this family.
I actually have been wondering the same thing . . .
I have three trees that I manage but the "My Pages" option appears only within one of the trees. Also I would like to use the Links, Polls, Events and Forums options but do not understand how to use use them.
When generating reports notes can be filled with html-tage like &o-s-l-a-s-h - < br> - giving a very confusin impression of the reports. It seems that all entries - but Notes are taken care for
Esther--I have written about this same problem, I think, several times, was told it was a bug and that it would be fixed sometime in the future. The problem is that the biographical note uploaded from FTB to the on-line site does NOT have proper sentence breaks and paragraph breaks, just vertical lines. This is very annoying, because it makes it very hard to read the narrative in the on-line biography. I was told to use <br> as a work-around, but going back to insert that after every sentence and paragraph in every biographical note in FTB is too enormous a task to even contemplate!! Would you guys please, PLEASE fix this?
This actual note was from a family site maintained online. But I'm aware that there is a problem with Notes in FTB when they are exported to the family site. I've attached an example of the latter in this post.
Please note my correction in 1. post as the reffered html-tag was changed to the danish letter ø
Bearing in mind that Ingrid had reported this problem several times being promised that you are looking into it - can you give/promise a time-frame for a final solution.
After all - if just a simple transformation between 2 well documented formats
I am sorry but we do not have a time frame of when this will be fixed, as our R & D team is very busy with many new features, and some other bug fixes.
We will let you know when you have more information.
Is there an option to turn on/off the "Add a relative"-button (the plus sign below each individual) in the modern view tree? I'm trying to assist a couple of users, and some trees lack this button.
Thanks! Some of the users have created duplicate trees that way, but I wasn't aware of the difference. Is it possible to convert an FTB tree into a web tree?
I have been trying to upload a completely new family tree to my existing site and so far the gedcom file - only 16kb - will not upload. I keep getting an error message asking me to try later, which I have done several times without success. Can you help please?
