If you entered your information in Czech then it will remain in Czech, because changing the language does not change the information in your tree. The chart gets the information from your tree. Only the title of the chart will change.
I have not entered the information in Czech, the whole diagram is in Czech, everything - even lables like "Born", "Death", "Died", even "Created by MyHeritage.com" is in Czech language.
No to mention that MyHeritage.com converts the date format from 26.5.2010 that I enter to 26. Kvě 2010 for no reason - this date format is not used in our country.
When you create a tree online, its data language is determined by the language of your site when it was created. I can see that the language of your site is Czech, and so is the data language of your trees. That is why the chart is in Czech. Things like the labels you specified won't change when you change the site display language- that can only change the language of the title of the chart.
Regarding the problem with dates in Czech, this is a bug in our site. The developers have been notified and are working on fixing this problem. I will update you regarding this matter, and apologize for the inconvenience.

Adding a source for census entry. I create the source for a specific Head of the Family . Example 1900 Census John Doe. In the Source Descripition I add info that will include the rest of the family. When I add that source to those members the only way to view it is to go the Sources an see the links to head of the family. In the profile Info or events all that shows is the basic heading let's say 1910 Census John Doe. Adding data to the citiations will only be seen for that individual. It's cumberson to add the same data to every one in th family census. I am now using the notes and copying to others. Irish Census have links to the data but the URL box is to small and it's worse for Ellis Island links. You help will be appreciated. Pat
I have looked into this issue, and you are correct, at this point in time there is no other way to add the same source to multiple events for various people in your tree, and to have the data in the source be shown for all people.
I can see how this is cumbersome, and takes quite a bit amount of time.
I will make sure to pass on your suggestion to the appropriate department for further consideration.
Do you have plans of implementing this? Any timeframe?
I'm currently moving from another site due to some bad descisions that site has made in regards of their users, and for me I could add census records for approx 1000 users in my tree, for users between 1934 and 1700. These records is part of the documentation for where people lived, and who the members of the family was at that time.
If this is not going to be implemented there is way to much work to enter for each user manually and I would have to build my tree yet another place.
You're managing multiple people for events like weddings where bride, groom and vitnesses is posted. I believe that is showing for both.
It should be so people have to select people already in their tree.
I see that you're offering really beautiful books and charts, so I really consider going for Plus. But that would of course be if you're offering things I desire.
Unfortunately we don't have a specific timeframe for implementing an improvement in adding sources to many people in the tree, but I assure you that I will forward your request to our developers so that they will look into this issue and try finding a solution.
The reason this is problematic is that sources are added to specific facts, and therefore cannot be added to many people at once.
However, I have a suggestion that can make this easier for you: you can add a source to an entire family instead of to separate individuals. To do this, go in FTB to the family status box and click Edit. In Citations you can add the source to the entire family.
I hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.
I would like to create a custom"My Page" with links to outside information about historical events or records which my family were involved. I created a page in a web page editing application but cannot upload the code. is there a way to embed hyperlinks into the text on "My Pages" or upload html?
Some names are longer than others and therefore, they need to be in a smaller font to fit them into the name boxes in the tree, which are in an indentical size.
up until now i had a family tree i started from the FTB software.
i wanted to let people edit their family data in the family tree so i exported a GEDCOM file and impoted it directly from the family web site.
now it's really important for me not to completlly lose control over the tree, and as i see it i have two options:
1. let every member change and do whatever they whant with the tree
2. set the tree to be editable to only site admins and to manually allow selected people to change the family tree, but in that case i have to promote them to site admins and risk the family site.
is there a way to allow people to edit data in the family tree for their own family? (i.e. from their level and down?). i know not everyone can be as carefull as me around the tree and the site, so i don't want to let everyone edit whatever they want and start reparing other members' mistakes.
From what I understand, your options are between 1 and 2. The third isn't an option except by just asking people not to edit without your permission. You could just tell them to ask you to make any corrections or additions and then you can do so as you see fit.
The names of living people are not accessible to non-members/guests, even if the 'public' setting is used, as a matter of policy. Personally, I like it that way.
Is it possible to use other color than light-blue and pink on the family pages? I would like to use other colors if possible. If it can be done - could someone tell me how I should do? Bertil
Thanks for your reply! I mean the look at the "family-site" where my members can enter. I guess I can´t change this from FTB? At the "family-site" I entered "inställningar-allmän-personligt" (guess in english "administration-general-personalize"). From this I can only change the "head-picture" I want (from what I can see)? Any way to change the colors to something other than blue and pink? Best Bertil
