Howdy, when I open tree builder it tells me that 272 photos are missing and asks me to retore them from the website so I click yes and it says it failed to load pictures from website. Any way to restore my pics so I dont have to do them all again individually, thanks
There are several ways to restore the photos from your site. If you go on your site to Family Tree> Manage Trees and download your tree to Family Tree Builder, you will be prompted to restore the photos. Another option is in Family Tree Builder, in Photos> Restore photos from family site. Please try these two options and let me know how they work out for you.
I'm trying to merge the photo albums i have on my site with the ones in FTB. Is it possible to delete the albums from the myheritage page and use only the ones from my FTB file; or would deleting the photos from the site albums delete the photos in the FTB file
Thanks, I replied by mail but thought I'd reply here as well. Before I go through and republish the photos after deleting them from the site, is it possible to edit the albums in FTB...rename them, add photos into an existing album? I have about 1400 photos some of which are in the wrong album and others that aren't in album at all
When I create books and reports, I find that the special norwegain characters æ-ø-å doesn't show, and is replaced with the respective html-code. This happens only in the fields for notes and sources, the rest is fine, also on the web-pages. My Gedcom has UTF-8 and norw lang. setting. Any ideas to solve this?
Can you please give me an example of this in a book or a report that you created? Please specify the error and how it should be displayed., so that I can assist you further.
When I create a pdf from the family book creator on web, I get all the html-tags in the pdf along with the text. This is from the fields where there is a html-editor plugin on the website. Plain text is OK. Attached screenshots.
In settings I have activated links so I can share some sites(as it says), but wherever I look I can't find any place to add them, and I see no option to add clickable links in the greeting text...
Is this an option that is not an option? Or am I just blind? ;)
If you go into the editing box for the welcome message (by clicking on 'edit this text'), then you ou can highlight a word in your welcome message, and select the link button in the top menu. There you will have the option to enter to site address.
Please note that this currently only works with Internet Explorer and Firefox and not in Chrome.
The Options->Max in the Modern View of the web family tree does not seem to work. It opens a new tab in both Chrome and Internet Explorer 9 but I only get a blank page. I assume I should get a full page view of the tree canvas?
The 'Classic' view is a very old format that we stopped developing a few years ago. That's why it is missing very important and useful features, and many fixes that we made, such as maximizing the tree.
The 'Modern' view is our new and supported online tree editor. I strongly suggest that you switch to work in this view.
If you choose to stay with the 'Classic' view you should keep in mind that there are some features and fixes that will not be included.
Thanks for your quick reply. Somehow, I think of the Classic View as The Mordern View. It is much easier to view the tree especially when the family is large. In the Mordern View, I have to scroll a long way left or right to view even my siblings. I do hope you keep the "Classic" View as an option.
I'm the same way. The "modern" view is what I think of as a traditional family tree. I would be more likely to call that classic than modern. The one they call "classic" is much different from anything I have ever encountered before.
