Yeah, very frustrating. They must be having a big software/hardware problem. It shouldn't take but a day or two for the smart matches to be there. The silence on the response to my question to support is deafening. Frankly, they should be ashamed of themselves. I'll have to vote with my wallet in the future.
I just sent them another email. The lack of communication is what frustrates me the most. It's high school stuff. I'm going to continue complaining about My Heriitage to anyone who will listen, until I hear something from them other than a form letter response. Premium member...bahh.
Thanks for contacting us about this and I'm deeply sorry for the delayed response.
We have been looking into this issue and will keep you updated accordingly. This may be an issue for very large trees.
For the time being if you are not recieving smart matches, please send us this inquiry via e-mail. As mentioned above, each time that you do publish your tree to the site, the Smart Match calculation process is restarted. This means that if you publish your tree very frequently you may experience a large delay in receiving the new Matches. This also means that if you have a very large tree in the thousands it might take two weeks or longer.
I have the date of birth of some of my members righ on the builder program but then in my page online appears their birthdays on diferent days which mislead our members...please any help will be welcome.
Had same problem. Birthday of 12 March came up as 3 December. In Australia we usually put DD/MM/YYYY - other places its MM/DD/YY - cant remember which way I did it, but try both ways till you get the right one
If you are using family tree builder, then goto edit details of the person you are changing and next to birth date, click the calender icon and a date editor box will appear. You can then insert the date correctly.
Hi richard, thats what i did in the first place when ive put the birth date...when i saw the wrong date on the page i went to the program and found that the real date was correct but somehow the page on internet got it wrong..like for example, an uncle's birthday of mine is in november but it came out february on the page...well dont know, hope doesnt happen again...
Okay...I'll check mine as well, as you automatically think its going to show correctly. Although i havent had complaints from family yet. Enjoy the day further
Would this also be the issue I am seeing on my family sites? When I'm on the initial page, or the Home tab, all I get is the blue bar across the top and no tabs. I can go and use the left hand side menu and click on the link View Family Tree, and then I see the tabs across the top. However when I click the Home tab again it brings me back to the page where all I have is a blue bar at the top, is this also due to the screen resolution? Let me know if you need anymore information about what I'm seeing.
Your problem doesn't sound connected to the menus being pushed to a second line. You wouldn't have a problem seeing the rest of your family site if it was just the menus.
Your problem sounds different. Can you try to clear cache and cookies in your browser or try using a different browser altogether?
If you continue to have trouble, take a screenshot of what you see and either attach it here in the thread or send it in an email to support@myheritage.com and we'll take a look.
I have took a screenshot of what I am seeing. First the one with Home in it, it is of the screenshot of what I see upon initially logging in or pressing the Home tab in the second screenshot. The second screenshot contains the event page (I navigated to it by clicking the View Family tree link on the left hand side, and in order to not have the names I then was able to click on the events tab). It just seems like when viewing the home page I should still see the tabs, correct? Let me know if you have any questions or would want me to include anything else.
If a personin the treeis named afterseveral relatives, you can enter this ontheir profiles. But you can onlyadd ONE personthey are named after.Shouldn't it bepossible (on their profilepages) to add more thanONE person theyare named after? This is of courseon the website, Idon't knowif it is availablein the program because I don'tuse it.ButI'd love tohave this featureon the website.
If you add more than one "named after" fact to a specific person, they all should appear on the profile page. I just made a test with my own profile. Please see the image attached.
Hope this helps. Please contact me for further questions or comments.
How can I associate a photo with an event? Examples where I would like to do this are photos of weddings, birthday parties, graduations, and so forth. I've searched the help, the forums, searched on google and sent emails asking about this but so far have had no luck finding an answer. Seems like a basic function for a genealogical system.
Yes. I can see that you are using the site to edit. In the site it is possible to associate a photo with an event by entering a person's profile > edit profile > all my facts > you will see that for each fact that you have you can add a photo.
