I added myself towards the beginning of creating my tree (it is MY tree afterall...) and I did not merge my tree with another. Perhaps I will just need to take my large family tree and the numerous amount of referrals to your service to another service that is programmed to better accommodate its customers.
My PC crashed recently and everything on the hard disk was lost. Luckily enough my Family tree was stored on an external disk so I could restore it. My Heritage did not recognise it as an existing family tree but as a new one, because the system introduced a time indication after the name. Consequently it now appears, that my family tree now appears duplicated on the web site albeit with a slightly different name. There seems to be now tools available to get rid of a whole family tree. Could you please remove the other one as soon as possible?
When i save the tree builder were does it go ,ive got TREE BUILDER on q:\\ with most of my progs, i run windiowsXP on c:\\ as normal and i thought i saved tree builder on m:\\ for my backup but i cant find it . Theres a prog on m:\\ with .ZED but thats only 79 kb when usaully its in .GED 166 KB can you help.
It is recommended to save all your files on the C drive in order to ensure proper functioning of the program and preservation of family tree files.
You can try searching your computer for ZED files to look for missing trees.
If you added photos to the tree that were stored on an external hard drive the program will not be able to recuperate the file paths to those photos the next time you open the program. You'll want to add photos to the tree that are stored on the internal hard drive of your computer for best results.
