If you create a "Close Family" chart, and select in the 3ed step (the "Customize the Chart" step), in Generations to "Show All generations", it will show your siblings and all your direct ancestors - each generation in a separate level.
If you want to create a chart with all the people in your family project it can be done with the "All in One" chart.
You did not understand me. I needed an all-in-one chart that respects the levels of each generation. My heritage.com does NOT have something like this ! Can it be done ?
There are already available some rather useless charts like "bowtie" or "fan chart", but NO all-in-one chart with people from the same generation displayed at the same level - which could be MORE usefull than those charts !
Please, can you tell me how much time is needed for this better (and sooo needed !) version of All-in-one chart, to be created by your team ???
YOU ARE NOT doing anything about this issue ! It is very important, and I suppose very easy to be done !
What is the problem with you, people ? NOTHING of what I asked for, months ago, was ever realised ! We want to see that someone is working there, at least some minor changes :(
In fact, I think I will soon move my tree and all informations to another site, and I'll tell all my friends on Facebook and everywhere, to do the same thing
Do you know maybe, if the Family Tree Builder has the same (or other) issue like the online tool?
As I understand, there is no way to check that before paying for a full year subscription for the Premimum account - which is very frustrating by itself...
The best way to back up your family tree is to use Family Tree Builder’s backup facility on File > Back up Project. It will save a single file, perfect for backup, that contains your family tree and all its photos and documents. You can save it to any removable media device such as a flash/pen drive or CD/DVD.
As you have Windows 7 operating system on your computer, it seems that it's protection system prevents the Family Tree Builder program from working on your computer.
In order to make your system allow the program to work, please follow the next steps:
Click on the START orb
Type "system" in to the search box there.
Then Click on "System" to open it.
Click on "Advanced System Settings".
Under "Performance", Click on Settings.
Then Click on "Data Execution Prevention ".
Click on "ADD"
Then Browse till you find MyHeritage which is in the BIN file in you Program Files where you have FTB installed
Double Click on MyHeritage,
Click that file so that it appears in the box File Name box
Then Click open and it should appear in the Exception Box with a tick in the square alongside the name of the program, then APPLY and OK everything and you will find that FTB should work fine in Windows 7.
As my tree has increased close to maximum of 2,500 I have experienced signifcant problems with the software. Excessive hangs, delays in refreshing of pages between actions and total freezes when I try do charts.
On several occassions I have had to close the application and on several occassions done a Microsoft error report which has come up.
I have reinstalled the software (latest version) checked for updates (none) and suspect that part f the problem relates to size of my tree as when I get closer to 2400 it performs much better although not perfectly.
Pretty disappointed and will reluctantly give up and use my Ancestry.com account and software for my tree build even though I prefer FTB.
More Gripes:
Image viewer resolution is poor and the process of uplaoding and attcahing a photo to tree member is archaic. No reason why it couldn't be a drag and drop process. It almost borders on a DOS based software build process.
If I delete a person in the tree by right click and "person"-"delete" 90% of the time the screen refreshes back to home person and other times it doesn't. Annoying and wastes time.
When I delete a person why can't I renumber all tree members? I have 2392 persons but numbering goes up to 2951. Therefore I have discrepancies in my numbering sequences. There should be an ability to renumber tree members. researcxh predicates that you8 opfetn go back to a previous string of ancestors and the numbering can be very different. I want the facility to number members in regard to where they are in the tree not when I input them.
I often get smartmatch notification symbol in member GUI box and click and am told there are no smart matches. This is stupid. Either there are or there aren't. I don't want to waste my time looking when there are none especially when it incurs more freezes and hangs on page refreshes.
Why do I still get smartmatch symbol when I have previously confirmed or rejected the smartmatches? Symbol should be deleted surely? Sloppy programming.
I don't use Resaerch because it is like a snail.
As you will gather I am not a happy camper.
I look forward to a constructive and helpful reply.
After publishing a tree to the site, it takes time to calculate all the Smart Matches. The tree is shown with the Smart Matches symbols, but while the site is still calculating, clicking on the symbols will lead you to a blank page.
Regarding the second issue, the Smart Matches symbol will continue be displayed after confirming a match in order to mention that you have a Smart Match for this person. After rejecting a match the symbol is not supposed to be there anymore, it is a new update.
