I have tried to change the email address for a member of our site Johannes Jacob Brits (born 04 June 1957) first on line, then from Family Tree Builder. In both instances the system tells me that the email address has allready been taken. How can I correct this?
Thank you for the reply. My wife is the manager of the site, and has invited me, as we experiment. She made the changes, but when I pull the site up it still says Family tree is managed by (my wife) and cannot be changed by me. Any suggestions?
No I don't understand it unless it is a bug. If the tree was started in Family Tree builder no one can update it online, but I assume this is not the case under the circumstances. My tree has always been open to member edits so I haven't had to worry about what changing the settings would do. You might give it a little while, but other than that I can't tell you anything.
Is it possible that your wife hit Cancel at the end instead of Save? I am not accusing your wife of making mistakes, I just want to cover all the bases I can think of.
Thanks once again for trying to help. My wife sent our question to MyHeritage Support, and they said our Family Tree was created within the program, and that they could switch it to the web if we wanted. That is suppose to solve the problem.
