I had an account named streiff.myheritage.com that I haven't accessed in awhile and now I can't remember the password OR the email address I registered it under.
Can someone give me directions on how I can recover/restore this account?
I created a family tree and I am the home person, but when I view the tree online from the website, I am not in the tree. It shows someone else as the main person, and me and my parents are no where to be found. I realize that I do not have a premium account, but when the tree is uploaded shouldn't I be in my own tree...? I find this very frustrating and I think it should be fixed.
The reason that not all people were published from your tree is that not all were published. There is a limit on the number of individuals you can have in your tree in your family site: 250 individuals for the Basic plan, 2500 individuals for the Premium plan, and an unlimited number for the PremiumPlus plan.
There is no limit in Family Tree Builder. Even if you have a Basic site, you can have as many individuals as you like in your Family Tree Builder project. Keep in mind that when you publish the tree to the Family Site, only 250 individuals will be published.
I understand that there is a 250 person limit with a basic account, but shouldn't the first person added to the online tree be the main person in FTB? What is the point of labeling it as my family tree if it isn't going to put me in it? It shouldn't matter who or where or when the home person is decided in FTB, when the website is published the home person should match. Time to update the software...
I am wondering how ID numbers are assigned... I added myself first (or at least one of the first few) and yet my number is over 1300. I thought the numbers were assigned based on the order of entry into the tree...?
ID numbers are assigned according to the order of people that you add to your tree. They are internal to the programming of the tree, and are not editable.
The reason for your number could be that you added yourself at a later stage or that you merged two trees.
Please note that you may notice more ID numbers than people in the tree. The reason for this is ID numbers are not re-used when people are deleted. Therefore, ID numbers can exceed the actual number of individuals in the tree.
I added myself towards the beginning of creating my tree (it is MY tree afterall...) and I did not merge my tree with another. Perhaps I will just need to take my large family tree and the numerous amount of referrals to your service to another service that is programmed to better accommodate its customers.
I see this is really impportant to you, os I decided to upgrade your site top Premium for 2 months, free of charge. That way you can publish your entire tree and also enjoy our other Premium features.
After the two months, you will need a subscription, or you can then get your tree to be below 250 people and ask to go back to the free Basic plan and avoid any payments.
I think you have to get them to do it. Sometimes they respond to threads like these. You may have to send them a message though. I do know it's been done before.
