I set up my site with an email address and posted my family tree - great. Decided a different email address would be better. Changed it - cool - it works with the password to log onto the web site.
The program shows the old email address. Tried to change it to the new one in the Tree Builder program - it tells me that the password does not match. I am SURE the password typed is correct because I copy it from a password store onto the clipboard.
I've tried changing the password on the website but the problem remains the same - can log on on the website but not publish or change the email addressfromTree Builder.
What is going on and how do I resolve this problem?????
Well Lior - the bigger question is the next one ;)
The current (major!) problems with the new version of FTB seem to arise from a corrupt interaction via the GEDCOM file - so it certainly seems a highly recommended course of action to start editing data online during the period that y'all are fixing that little annoyance. There are only a few advantages to working offline but the MAJOR one for me is the "belt and suspenders" back-up protocol. Using FTB we users get 2 sets - 1 local, 1 on-line. The on-line copies are generated by FTB publication; if a user publishes frequently he/she creates a useful, comforting library of on-line backup files.
So ............. the big question for on-line editing. Do you currently have in place a protocol for automated backup of the additions and amendments as they are being made on-line? Can I or you arrange a backup to be auto-generated every 10 minutes?
We have an online backup service backs up all the family trees and photos on your family site once a month so you’ll never lose info again. It is a paid service, available to all members who have a family tree on a family site at MyHeritage.com. The backup service is separate from Premium family site subscriptions or Family Tree Builder upgrades and it’s affordable so anyone can take advantage of the service.
We create backups of your family tree together with photos once every month and send you email notification with a link to download the backup. Links to the backups are also available on your family site under the Family Tree tab in the Backups section.
Each month’s backup is saved so if you need to restore a backup from two months ago or even six months ago, you can easily do so with the links provided. If you have more than one tree on your family site, each tree is protected separately at no extra cost.
Restoring backups is simple and takes a few seconds.
Backups are stored securely with password protection so you can be sure your information is safe.
The backup service is available for published family trees created in Family Tree Builder, our family tree software, as well as family trees created online on a MyHeritage.com family site.
To subscribe to the backup service for your family trees, just go to your family site to Family Tree > Backup.
I purchased the premium account specifically because I wanted to be able to print out my ENTIRE tree of 830 people. It said this can be done. However, when I set the printing to ALL people in ALL families, it still only prints out about 300-400 people. Several are missing. Why is this? Does anyone know how to print ALL people? Also, is there a way to make the view print out smaller? The incorrect printed family members were so big, I would need an entire wall of a house to fit that. -Mike
I did click on "create all in one" chart. It is not printing all the people in the tree. There are only a handful of people who are duplicated and nobody is in the tree that I don't consider distantly related. There are definitely glitches here...it's not something that I am doing incorrectly. For instance, another glitch I noticed the other day. I went to add pictures to various family members and my great Uncle Mike is left out when I try to find him in the tree. It's odd because all his brothers and sister are showing. Even when I change view to his father's tree, he is still missing. It's alright. I gave up on creating it. I printed all the info on a spread sheet, so I can cut it all out by hand and make my own tree. (I had hoped to avoid that, but it doesn't seem that I have a choice.) Thanks anyway.
