After trying to get in contact with you regarding messing up of my pictures in my treees, I post the question here. How come that many of the pictures in my family tree is mixed. Many of the female persons are placed under male persons and vice versa. What can be done to get this fixed?
There is a bug we are aware of that is causing the problem. We are working to fix it as soon as possible.
If you were to publish to a new family site the tree and photos would be fine. If you are interested in publishing to a new family site as a workaround until we can fix the problem let me know and I will tell you how to do that.
Now it has taken a long time to fix this problems. If it is possible, I would like to publish my tree to a new family site. But what about all the smartmatches? And what about all the pictures that are on my site?
i have'nt been to this site for some time and now I am unable to sign in. Was the account deleted? If so can it be revived. How do I go about it. Thanking you in advance
Re the site, I have had major problems with it, to cut a long story short, you duplicated everyone then twice duplicated all the photos, you then had the nerve to ring me and say I was using up all my 50Gb of space and would I like to purchase more! cheek,
anyway after much muttering they have given me back the full £54 that I paid in March this year for a years subscription and let me keep the site for free until next March, when I will have to decide if I can afford to keep it on.
Now today I get an email telling me that the NEW Record Matching has found 110 matches in 7 collections, but guess what? when I try to look at the matches there is nothing! Even the supposedly FREE "find a grave" collection, which tells me I have 11 matches, but it is empty.
For me, the big appeal of this service (my heritage) over the others (Ancestry, Find My past, etc.) was that all my relations could access the family history WITHOUT haveing to join and pay fees. Please get your act together, you had a great product BEFORE you merged with World Vital records.
Whilst it is applaudable that you have given me a full refund, I would rather be paying you and getting a decent, reliable service, I really have to consider whether I am going to renew in March next year.
sorry if I have ranted on for too long, but I really had to get this said.
That is one BIG plus for ancestry. A subscription allows access to ALL of the records(not just submitted trees), whereas on myheritage you have to pay extra. A discount doesn't quite cut it for most people. This is definitely something they should think about.
In Family Tree Builder (PC) I remember being able to mass edit a particular entry (for example changing the spelling of a name used by many, or even a country of birth) which I used when creating reports for people who spoke different languages (we're a multinational family). I have since swtiched to a MAC and therefore am not able to use Family Tree Builder and can only edit the entries online.
I haven't yet figured out a way to mass edit such entries in the online platform other than just changing entries one by one (there are over 300 names in my database so you can see this would be a pain) and wondered if there was an option I was overlooking? Ideally a MAC version of Family Tree Builder would be available but as it has been requested for years and still no option. Any thoughts?
it is sad that MY HERITAGE site is a thief and dacoit.
they do not allow cancellation of premium subscription by user but automatically use their credit card details to renew them even if we do not want to renew.
mails to support staff does not ellict any response.
I have been collecting family information for many years. Now that I am using this website I would like to add a copy of the birth certificates that I have for some of my family members. My idea is to scan the document and add it to that person profile but I don't seem to find the option to add a document I can only add photos or links. If this exists where can I find it? or do I need to pay a subscription to have this possibility?
Another topic, I noticed on the smart matches that in some families, their names of part of their names are as "private" how can I do this in my own family tree.
Documents upload is not limited only to upgraded users. You should be able to upload document files the same way as you upload photos. What happens when you try to upload? Do you get any error message?
Smart Matches are a very good solution for peoples' need to protect the privacy of their family tree, while allowing them to be discovered by relatives.
If other users have a match with your tree, they will be able to see only the overlapping areas in your tree, plus adjacent deceased people, but not adjacent living people who were not matched (they will be displayed as 'Private').
If your tree is private or a person is still living people won't be able to see the details. Having a private tree defeats the purpose of smart matching though.
If your tree was created in Family Tree Builder, and then published to your family site, you will have to edit it in the software, and then re-publish your tree to your family site.
Lately I've experienced that not all of the branches of the familytrees are shown on the screen. I.e. if I'm working at my fathers family my mothers family will not be there unless i choose her, then it will be down loaded. Why is it so? I'm using MyHeritage. Will it help if I upgrades it or is it the Mac I'm using which is not strong enough?
When your tree gets to be a certain size, by design you will only see a part of your tree at at given time,to make processing easier and faster for your computer. The other people in your tree are showed in "pruned" branches (the very small pink and blue icons that you can see above certain individuals). You can click on these icons to show the "hidden" parts of the trees.
