Dear Kevin: you must delet a person on the software in your PC (it is impossible to do it online, otherwise that supression wil not be saved. Follow the instruction given in answer 1, clicking with the mouse, in order to choose the person that is going to be deleted. Then you press "delet" on your keyboard. Save the action and send the information to your website. Good luck!
Don't forget this: you must delet or remove the names entender in error on your software downloaded in your PC. After removing those names, save the action and immediately you'll receive the question which will lead you to your website online in order to update your new pieces of information.
Can someone help me with how you would "link up" an common individual between two lines? I have a number of common ancestors (cousins marrying cousins, etc.) and ideally the trees would show that relationship - but I can find no way to do it.
Is it just my computer, or has the tagging format changed? The pictures are now very small and the ability to tag is very limited. Is this an interim or has it changed permanently as it is now not very user-friendly.
Thanks very much...other than this, I love this site!
ESTHER, MY BROTHER JOSE CONCEPCION GONZALES, A MEMBER OF OUR WEB PAGE IS EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTIES WITH REGISTRATION/LOGIN. APPARARENTLY YOU HAVE RESPONDED, BUT HE IS STILL WAITING FOR A VALID PASSWORD.
ON THE PROFILE AND FAMILY TREE I GAVE HIS FULL NAME, BUT HE OVERLOOKED THIS FACT AND ATTEMPTED TO LOG IN AS JOSE GONZALES AND THE SYSTEM TELLS HIM THAT HIS EMAIL IS BEING USED BY ANOTHER MEMBER. ABOUT AN HOUR AGO, HE TRIED AGAIN USING HIS FULL , BUT ONCE AGAIN HE FAILED.
I APOLOGIZE FOR OUR CONFUSED STATE. PLEASE RESPOND AS WE ARE ANXIOUS TO RESOLVE ASAP.
ALSO, HOW DOES SOMEONE REQUEST PERMISSION FROM THE WEBMASTER TOVISIT THE WEBSITE. SOME OF OUR MEMBERS HAVE USED THIS OPTION, BUT NOT ONE PERSON REMEMBERS WHAT THEY DID.
I wrote to your brother this morning, and we are working to solve the login problem ASAP.
If you find a Family Site that has information that you are interested in, but is blocked to the public, you will need to contact the Webmaster of that site to request membership. You can do this by going to the bottom of the login page for the Family Site and select "Contact Webmaster" link. Fill out a nice message with the reason you would like to be a member and submit.
If you are a member of a family site, and you wish to delete your membership of that site, you have to request that the owner of that site delete your membership.

There isn’t really a great way to merge two different trees in an online family site.
If you're really interested in trying, I can tell you that it will be a little complicated.
Firstly, you will have to export both your family trees to Family Tree Builder. Then you can use the export branch feature and export a specific branch from one family tree and then import in to another tree in the Family Tree Builder software.
To do this, go to Family Tree Builder and import the first GEDCOM file (or open your existing family tree project if this is your basis for the merge). Then import the second GEDCOM file, using the ‘File>Import Gedcom’ option in Family Tree Builder. A wizard will open, asking you to select the GEDCOM you wish to import. In the ‘Configuration’ page in this wizard, there is an ‘Output’ section, which gives you an option to merge the new GEDCOM file into the previous project. Choose the Merge option and complete the wizard. Please note, that if there are duplicate people in the two GEDCOM files, they will remain duplicates and will not be consolidated, you will need to delete the duplicates manually. We intend to provide more advanced features for merging GEDCOM files and consolidating duplicates, in the future.
Please let me know if you need further assistance. I would be happy to provide it to you.
I am on the basic tree status, and I have too many people in my tree. I just noticed it and I wanted to know that if I didn't update to a better package if they would delete members of my tree to make it smaller.
It seems that they have just changed the limits for basic membership. It was 1000 people, but they've just cut it down to 500, and increased the price for silver membership from $2.95 to $3.95 per month. I would have appreciated an announcement that this was coming. I had 583 people in my tree, but when I published it again, they only published 500 of them. I still have my original number of members offline, but to get more than 500 published, I would have to upgrade.
I'm glad to know I'm not losing my mind. One day I told my husband I could add about 400 people to the tree under the free membership, then all of a sudden I was over the limit by 100 ...I thought I really missed something. From the way I understand it from the account page and the home page, the extra people just won't show up...they're still on the tree on my computer though. I too, would have appreciated a notice. I knew I was going to have to upgrade eventually, but I wasn't planning to go over the limit for a while. Now that I'm over, I'll just keep adding on to my tree on the computer until I'm ready to upgrade....I still get smart matches on the new additions.
