I have a premium membership but I logged in yesterday and all of a sudden my membership info is totally wrong it says that I am the daughter of my Husbands parents and all of a sudden he is also a webmaster of the site which he is not if I click on his name my photo somes up under his name how do I correct this info cause under his so called premium membership when his info comes up and you click on the icon to take you to his profile my profile comes up.
I don't know how to fix it and it is totally pissing me off
Please don't be concerned and describe more clearly what the problem is. You wrote everything in one sentence without taking a breath and it is a bit difficult for me to follow you. I just visited your site's member list and noticed that nobody except you is described as site manager, so no problem there.
It's possible that our site made the wrong automatic association between you as a member and a person in the family tree, and as a result of that, you are listed as being the daughter of your husband's parents. It's quite easy to fix this:
Visit MyHeritage and go to your profile (click the link in the top right hand corner: My Profile).
Then click "Associate with family tree" and fix the association there if it is incorrect.
If there are still wrong descriptions after doing this, there will disappear automatically after 24 hours (this is a result of a technical process called caching). Let me know if you need more assistance.
I knew one MyHeritage member who had a such problem: he was UNKNOWN in his own tree (no information at all and no added photo). He tried to do a lot of things but with no result. Unfortunately nobody from support answered him. I adviced him to select for example his mother as a Home person (tight-click on a person -> Person -> Set as Home Person) and then delete himself< his wife, kids and all his photos. That way there were no more links in the program at his profile. Then he saved the project, published it, closede, opened again and added himself and jis family. It worked.
If the site incorrectly associates a member with the wrong individual, the fix is to go to the member profile (by clicking My Profile in top right corner of any page on the site) and then to click "Associate with family tree" and fix the association. It is not advisable to delete data from the tree and then add it later in order to accomplish the same. I think we may have a bug in the last 24 or 36 hours with automatic associations of members and individuals, we will inspect it in the next 15 hours and fix it.
Everything is under control and very simple to fix. It can be done in 2 minutes, but we want to trace how it happened. So until Sunday morning when our developers inspect it (Sunday is not a weekend for us), please don't delete anything and don't touch anything on your site, and don't re-publish your family tree and do anything else of that nature. We will fix the issue within the next 12-15 hours, and update you, but if you change anything it will remove the evidence and make it more difficult for us to fix.
Hi James, not a problem but something along the lines of this situation, I have main site, I set up site for my sister and nephews to put info in, but when I created site I changed the original person (my details) to my sisters on the set up page and it then assosiated my sister as me when i started compiling the tree,
I sorted in the end all the problems, but the program should not have allowed me to change my original details while creating the new site.
No thats not it it wasnt allowing me to see my tree before i ended up making a new site i did that by mistake searching for a way to add people to my tree. There is some reason that my computer is not letting the tree load correctly, im still getting "refresh browser and try again"
If when you clik on Family Tree, you get the message "Loading Family Tree..." and nothing happens, and you do NOT see the tree icon with the revolving green arrow, it means that you do not have Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer.
Most genealogy softwares support the standard GEDCOM format.
All that you need is to use your genealogy software to export your data into a GEDCOM file.
The next step would be to import this file into MyHeritage.
There are 2 ways of doing that:
If you use the Family Tree Builder (FTB) software, launch FTB, and choose File > Import Gedcom
You can also import a Gedcom file directly into the website by going to your family site, and choosing Family tree > Import GEDCOM from the top navigation panel.
