To simply delete a person:- click the EDIT button on that person, Click PERSON then click DELETE PERSON
However, if you want to avoid re-adding that person and all their information and descendants etc, then you could click EDIT then PARENTS then REPLACE PARENTS.
You can also change spouses using this method too.
The 'Basic' plan for using this site is free, however there are limitations on the amount of data (250MB) and individuals (1,000) you can add. This is normally more than enough to host quite a bit family tree.
However, when (or if) you reach these limits, you could upgrade to the 'Silver' plan which will give you 500MB of storage and 2,500 individuals for $2.95 per month, billed annually.
The 'Gold' plan which will give you 1,000MB of storage and unlimited individuals for $4.95 per month, billed annually.
Or the 'Platinum' plan which will give you 2,000MB of storage and unlimited individuals for $9.95 per month, billed annually.
How do you add a step brother or step sister to your family tree without it coming up as someone else i.e. your brother or sisterand can you inlcude their parent?
What you will need to do is add the step parent by adding another spouse to the natural parent.. Then you must also add an additional spouse to the step parent.
You can then switch between the two relationships of the step parent adding children accordingly.
Any children added to Parent and Step Parent will become Half Siblings.
Any children added to Step Parent and the step parents previous spouse will become Step Siblings.
I hope this helps and if you are unsure of the above procedures, please ask and I will explain in more detail.
Can you tell me how to do this (if it is possible on this program) so that it doesn't show as another marriage? For instance, my brother had a child with his former fiancee', but they never married. Now my brother is married and has two other children with his wife. When I followed your directions, everything was right (half-sibs, etc), except it shows that my brother was married twice, which isn't accurate. Is there a way to correct this, or do I just need to make notes about it?
What you will need to do is display your brother with the former fiancée and then click on EDIT on the right hand side of the box BELOW the boxes of your brother and his former fiancée.
Next click on the top line which should say "Edit details of (brother) and (former fiancée')"
This should display another window where at the bottom you should see details of the marriage (or in this case nothing, as they never got that far), however, if you click the drop down on the very bottom field, you can change the status from 'Married' to something more suitable such as 'Friends'
After clicking on OK you should then find that the status changes from Married to Friends as you switch between the two partners for you brother.
I've tried the directions sent to Shelly for adding in my biological son from a previous relationship to show as my current wife's step-son. The problem is, the system now shows my ex-girlfriend (son's mother) as the step-mother of my daughter (with my current wife). I was never married to ex-gf, my daughter came long after we'd broken up and I have tried the "friends", "unknown" and "other" status. Nothing works. Any advice from anyone will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

The answer I received from MY HERITAGE was use GEDCOM.Since I am a Mac user that option is not yet available to me.I did request to be put on the list for the soon to be released trial version of GEDCOM for MAC users,and am happy there is a solution on the way,but what do I do in the meantime?Any suggestions,solutions?PLEASE help,the charts are making me dizzy for being so ASKEW/lopsided.

I have a Mac and have had to use a friends Dell windows version to update my on-line geneology information. I also purchased the Mac geneology software which is not quite as user friendly and takes a bit to get used to. Therefore, I am running duplicate info for now but hope that My Heritage gets with the Mac world soon.

Why do I get a server time out when trying to sign in to my site?I have to use a link from an email to get in to my site now,this is very frustrating & needs to be fixed immediately.The response time from the people at "myheritage.com" is ridiculous,they just don't care unless you're paying top dollars!What an insult to their propaganda to entice you to sign up with them.Also they don't remove a site when you ask them to no matter what the reason.I now have 2 sites that are conflicting with each other when I try to sign in.Thanks ever so much for the free messy site.
